If you enjoyed these games in the early/mid-2000’s, then you’ll be excited for this news.

Grab your gear and your controller, soldiers. It’s time to return to the battlefront.

During today’s Nintendo Direct, Aspyr and Lucasfilm Games revealed Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection, which will see the beloved Star Wars Battlefront (2004) and Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) introduced to a new generation. Coming March 14 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for $35.01, Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection features restored online play for up to 64 players, expansions to Hero Assault mode, and all previously released bonus content for both titles. Steam users will also enjoy Steam Deck support.

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection includes a galaxy of content inspired by the original and prequel trilogies, from famous battles across Episodes I-VI, to playable heroes and villains like Asajj Ventress, Darth Vader, and more, to unique modes and challenges. See below for a full breakdown of what to look forward, including previously console-exclusive extras now included on all platforms:

Are they re-mastering at all or just relaunching it?

They’re adding in several things and making some expansions, but I don’t believe it’s a total remaster. The graphics, while substantially better, aren’t going to be 2024 level graphics.

These were such good games. If they just updated the graphics and added new features they could make a killing on this game.

I never played the originals, though I did play both of the newer games that came out in the last decade or so. Those titles seemed to get killed in the gaming community. For someone who hasn't played the originals, what is it about those games that make them so much better than the reboots that came out recently?

They were just…fun. Really well balanced, chaotic in a good way, decent variety of units but not overwhelming, just a fun game. The new games felt very pay to win.

Very fun and relatively easy to play shooters with respect to the IP.

I never cared for the RPG games like KOTOR so these were the best Star Wars games imo.

I probably have more hours in this game than any other from when I was a kid

That being said, I have the original games downloaded on Xbox Series X now. A slight graphics update and adding Kit Fisto isn’t gonna convince me to drop the $50-60 im sure they are asking for. I’ll just play the OG.

They are $31.49 right now and worth it for the online component to me. I'm expecting these to be pretty popular. I'll be getting them on PS5 since it seems no cross play and I would expect the PS5 servers to be the most active.

I don't think it will be possible for me to put in the same number of hours that I put on the originals, but I'll definitely get my $31 worth.

I have it on Steam and on my original Xbox, but I will certainly be getting in for the Switch.

I remember grinding to get the upgraded blasters.

Really all they need is to add some new levels. I don't need super graphics, I just want that sweet sweet gameplay

Yeah, I read that when it launched on Steam only 3 multiplayer servers were available. That means only 192 people could play online multiplayer on that platform at one time.

I’ll be downloading it for PS5 today or tomorrow. The good news is that there is still a lot to play in single player if multiplayer has issues for a few days.

I regret buying this on the Switch. It's not a locked 60 FPS

It was really buggy, I was shooting people but they seemed to be like flying around. It was packed last night.

I’m gonna play Road to the Empire tonight, maybe servers will calm down.

I can’t find any multiplayer games for BFII on PS5.
