That's my next purchase. PS4 is taking a backseat to those two games and my PC. Why couldn't these games be released on the PS4? FACK!

Which one? If it's the first one you get after a mission with Trevor, then yeah you do have to do missions. If it's another, then they will occasionally ask you to do a task that helps out with said business.

anybody got any clue as to how garages operate?
say I take a shite ton of cash and fully trick out a sports car. then I go and deposit it in the garage.
now let's say I take out this car and end up totaling it somehow.
what are the consequences here? do I have another copy sitting in my garage or is my investment totally pissed away? I'm terrified to pull out my tricked out car until I know more about this.

I'm in the 50's - 60's percentage wise.
I haven't done much off the beaten path stuff yet, but I'm really enjoying the story. can't stop myself. I've done a bunch of freak stuff and some other random encounters that are pulling up my % a bit as well.

I doubt this is the case. In past games it's always been you can spend the money on the car, but once you start to frick it up you have to put it back in the garage and it would repair it automatically. So as long as you don't blow it up and always put it back in a garage when you're done you won't lose the investment.
