Yeah I tried going through the "forgot username" and "forgot password" but it isn't even recognizing my email address anymore.

I deleted the app today. Just lost interest and its shitty for people who don't live in massive cities.

Gps is f'd nowas well. 5 miles this morning and all it registered was .2.....
Also, I think they reduced the spawn rate of evee. I haven't seen one in the last few days. They weren't common but I was getting a few per day at the very least.

I'm pretty close to deleting as well. Niantic makes no sense at all and has no connection to its player base. It's really pathetic and they've tanked the most popular mobile game ever just weeks after releasing it. This game had serious potential and it's gone down the can ever since release. Only reason I haven't deleted yet is hope that Nintendo can forcefully bring them to their senses and fix the game

yeah, I am pretty close to giving up as well. It may be nice actually having my phone last more than a few hours again. 
This whole thing is dumb. I didn't use pokevision so was just dumb lucking into a lot of pokemon but in the first few days, tracking pokemon down was so fun. It was so rewarding catching that Vulpix I had been tracking for a few blocks. I wish there was just something that told us where we should go or let us interact with the shaking grass to make a 85% chance a pidgey pops out/10% ratatta/5% other or something.
I mean if you want depressing read any comment chain on a pokemon Go post on reddit and look at all the outstanding ideas people have for this game that will never be implemented.

Mildly related question, best Pokemon game emulators? I want to play something generation 3 or earlier, but don't want the original Red Blue or Yellow (I can't stand that they weren't really in color now). Anyone have any good ones they've used?

Go with FireRed or LeafGreen. It is the original Red and Blue but updated for Gameboy advance.

Man, they really fricked this game up.
I semi joked a few weeks ago that Niantic would never fix the tracker because they want people sitting at 'sponsored lures' like McDonald's in japan.
Then it happens.
It's legit unplayable without a radar app. And certainly not fun.
I'll keep it on my phone to see if an update ever happens to add cool shite. Until then, meh.

The main problem with Niantic's bullshite is that the tracker doesn't work AT ALL, even without the footprints. The tracker doesn't refresh the list often enough and you could be chasing stuff that despawned 5 minutes ago, and the position on the list doesn't accurately reflect which Pokemon are actually closest to you.
Niantic is lucky they're making tens of millions daily off of the Pokemon property alone. No one is going to play any of their future games based on how disrespectful they've been to their user base.

They reduced the scan radius from 100m to 70m too. 51% decrease in your scan area.
So not only is it harder to find pokemon, you now may not see them even if you are near.
Also no bonus xp for great and excellent throws

It seems like curve balls have some extra curve to them too, so that will take some adjusting.
