Outside of the people that take it too far, the developers deserve all the criticism they get.
They deserve criticism, but I don't believe there was malicious intent to mislead anyone. I just think they needed better PR skills

Why continue to claim an element of MP when, by the time the game was late in development, they had to have known it didn't exist?

Sean Murray reminds me of Michael Scott. He wants to deliver the good news so he keeps saying yes and promising things that don't exist. No Man's Sky is literally Scotts Tots

I'll come to have my crow.
I enjoy the game still, but I haven't played it in 2-3 weeks if not more and I ended up buying DOOM for $39.99 and have been enjoying the HELL out of it way more than NMS.
It shouldn't have been $60, and Sean shouldnt have misled people to the bitter end like he did.
That said I think I'll enjoy it time to time between other games, but that's probably the extent of it. I guess with VR support it could be cool.

Would you hang yourself after just after making a ton of money for creating a crap game? I don't think you would.

Today's the 1 year anniversary and Sean Murray is supposedly dropping a memo today about either the new update or something else related to NMS. Haven't touched it in months though.

I'm happy this was bumped just so I can get a laugh out of this

I have nothing better to do tonight, so I'm going to start a new game with the new update and see if it's got more going for it. I kind of enjoyed the game - with the help of some mods.

Same here, getting good reviews. I'll report back after the weekend to give a review

Just started a new game and man everything is different and better. Even the UI was overhauled

Keep us updated, I may come back to it if it's much better.

It plays like a finished game now. Not sure how high of a praise that is with it's history, but I'm enjoying v1.3.
Pros:
Looks much better
Better materials management
Rover and Freighters are legit
More coherent story
Base building is more practical now that you have portals
Cons:
You still have to grind it out sometimes
Planets still lack ecotype diversity, though topography has been increased
Architecture diversity is still weak

Base building? You get to build a base now?

I fired it up as well.
Granted I didn't play too terribly long at launch but seems to have a lot of new content.
There is base building. You can hire npcs too. I haven't done either.
There is a normal, survival, hardcore, and creative mode. So I guess you could start a game purely for exploration and building

I put about 15 hours into it the week it came out, should I start a new game or just pick up where I was
