Is there some sort of confirmed list for which weapons each companion will use? I'll equip strong with a minigun and ammo, and he'll have it out but as soon as enemies are near he pulls out a sledgehammer that is not in his inventory...
Think i remember saying that he only uses pipe, laser or melee weapons.

I got a little too excited when I was able to put the dog collar I found on Dogmeat. I also have him equipped with light armor. He's a four legged tank. A cute tank.

I just manually scrapped all my multi-component junk

I was starting to feel like a Badass. Cleaned out some heavy Super Mutant areas. Killed the weaker bears.
Ran into a bad arse bear and he just about one hit my arse.
Also used almost all of my shotgun ammo on a Legendary Glowing Deathclaw.

The only reason I keep them around is to haul heavy stuff in my inventory. I'd give them a Fat Boy if I knew they wouldnt use it...

Ammo has 0 weight IIRC so no reason to give them ammo. They haul Fat Boys and Mini guns all the time for me.

Where can I find ammo for the Fat Boy? I think I've only found a couple mini nukes

I've found a few, the vendors in Diamond City might sell them, not sure about that though.

Holy scrapping, that took about 20 minutes to do all of my junk.

I keep getting the same type of Minutemen jobs from Preston, like get a kidnapped person back, kill raiders/ghouls that are threating a settlement. Keep getting called to the same places. Do these actually do anything to advance the story or just repetitive jobs for busy work. Will I negatively affect anything if I start ignoring them?

I know the minutemen story line does advance at some point, I just don't know when.
Don't know whether it's based on finishing those quests, or game progress, or level, etc...

I need to scrap. Then I need to up my charisma for local leader. I'm not doing much with settlements until I get that perk.

maybe a dumb question...
are mods out yet? i saw the fallout 4 script program that was released.
If mods are out, where is best place to look?

Yup, local leader + recruitment beacons.
You should get the Charisma bobblehea from parsons insane asylum first to save on a char. Point expense if you need it.
Go to Cabot house.
I'm working on getting the strength bobble head from the Mass Fusion building now.
