It's nuts because the combat is so insanely fun.
If they had a decent story and different types of quests, this game would be awesome.
Oh well. Back to Apex until the reviews for the Division 2 come out

The framerate issues from the beta seem to be resolved. Game looks better than the beta too.
The loading screens after the patch aren't that bad, but the number of them still are. Just no real reason why you have to load into the forge to change equipment. Pretty sure I was changing gear on the fly in Andromeda, but I could be wrong about that.
I think outside of some bugs/glitches, I have the same problems with Anthem as I do the Division and Destiny.
Like Destiny, I'd like to see this gameworld in a full on single player game rather than as a multiplayer looter shooter which by its very nature lends itself to a shallow story and mission objectives.
There seems to be a major lack of things to do at the conclusion of the game -- like moreso than is usually for this type of title. That is worrisome given the PR pounding EA/BioWare are taking for this title.
In actuality, it's probably not as bad a game as the internet would have you believe (like Andromeda), but it's very unfortunate that it suffers through most of the exact same issues titles that have come before it have.
Hopefully enough people will give it a shot to justify EA continuing to pump resources into the title so that it can improve over time like its competition.

It's the only way they'll have a chance at getting any of my money for it

I hate how gamers accept this bullshite tactic.

To be fair, Bulldog is a shill for EA’s BioWare skeleton crew. He also thinks Andromedia was a good game

I guess it's not so much acceptance of a poor sales tactic but realization that this is where we are. There's some aspect of games like this that early adopters do find enjoyable, but they hope the game is successful enough to warrant additional content and revisions to less desirable aspects. I don't see anything wrong with that per say.

If all you would stop buying these games at launch or pre-ordering them, they would put out complete games.
Instead, because of dumbass gamers, they put out 30% of a game for $60 and then charge you an additional $120 for the other 70%.
Y’all are so freaking gullible.
No other industry works like that.

Bruh are you playing Apex on ps or xbone?

Not anymore. This is the game that did it for me. Sony fricked me out of my money, but I look at it as money I paid to learn an important lesson as a consumer.
I booted it up this weekend, played through the opening mission, turned it off and went back to playing The Division, which is now a completed game and super fun that I bought for $18.
I have not pre ordered the Division 2 and will wait to see what it is like before I jump into another Anthem situation.

this happened to me with FO76. I just said whatever to it. Maybe one day the game will be worth playing. I'm pretty sure Anthem is way better than FO76 though

In all fairness, video games have been $60 for as long as I can remember. SNES, N64, PS1... Games were all $60.
Seems to be one of the only things that haven't inflated greatly over the past 20 years. DLC is their way of secretely inflating I guess

Didn’t realize Jim Sterling was in this thread
It’s a fricking video game man, it’s gonna be okay.

Scruffy has been very angry at the world for months now. I haven't seen him make a positive post in a long time.

Let’s see...
I recently made a Little Nightmares thread no one cared about.
I posted that I like Alita: Battle Angel.
I initially thought KH3 was fun, but it just wore on me.
There were lots of troll posts to Boom on the MSB about refs cheating.
They are there.
I just find the concept that surrounds games like Anthem, Destiny, and others like them to be a combination of fascinating and annoying.
No other industry works like this, yet people defend it like it’s acceptable and then complain when games are released in an incomplete state.
I don’t understand it.

The issue currently is the release of games that are incomplete so that more money can be charged for the remainder of the game disguised as “DLC”.
This is a pretty recent tactic.

the nature of DLC and day 1 patches was always going to lead to this. unfinished lazy games.
but in general games like this and MMO's have been killed by the cries for balance. In Anthem you have an entirely PVE game with boring loot and generic abilities. compare it to actual ARPG's like the diablo games or PoE or titan quest or borderlands ect and its a joke. all for the sake of design by spreadsheet item/power level bullshite. fire up any mmo and you have already played the mage or the tank or the fighter or the rogue or the healer in whatever the last generic boring MMO you played previously. hell even within those classes you have fireballs that do 200 damage and cost 20 mana but the hunters power shot does 200 damage and cost 20 mana. it all adds up to the same DPS on our spreadsheet so its good. all so we don't upset little Timmy when his class cant do something mine can. frick Timmy.
that said it was still worth $15 for EA access. going to try some other games before the months out.

to add a little more i have 60 hours in this game. its about 15 to finish the story and another couple to hit 30. so about 40 hours of endgame and i have seen 6 legendary drops. 3 of which were during the 11 hour window when they screwed up and increased the drop rates on Friday. i have gone days without seeing a legendary. on top of that one of them is an item thats bonus was stacking when it shouldn't so they put the bonus to 0 until some undisclosed time when they fix it.
the rolls on loot are so dumb that you arent excited to see them drop anyway. who thought having stupidly low drop rates with random stats that can literally be dead stats(local increased physical damage on an elemental ability) was a good idea?
its diablo 3 at launch all over again. so much so that the lead dev for D3's loot 2.0 actually made a post on the anthem sub saying as much. when dev for another game who made the same basic mistake is pointing it out publicly on your own subreddit maybe you fricked up.
