there were TWO RPG's in the line-up games that went back in time. I am hoping it has a little retro in it like DQ XI did?

Still remember playing the first Mario golf on 64 with my roommate in highland hall for like 15 hours freshman year in 1999. Probably the most I’ve ever played a video game without stopping

As per usual, about 98% of all Switch games are not at all interesting to me, not surprised

-Fall Guys will be great for the family
-I have no clue what Star Wars Hunters is, may be good?
-Never played Skyward Sword, probably check it out
-Golf seems to get good reviews here, I may pick that up too. Never played it
-Splatoon 3....maybe. I like 2 OK I guess. Havent played in over a year

Was really hoping for some BoTW2 news more than anything.

Or Metroid Prime 4. That game was announced almost 4 years ago and we haven't heard shite from it since with the exception they were starting back from scratch.

I actually think this was a super solid Direct.

So do I. Nintendo fanboys were expecting an E3 level of new information and are throwing hissy fit tantrums on social media about it.

Always have. Always will.

I think their off-kilter nature often informs their GOOD decisions......it also makes them make odd decisions.

But when they hit, they hit BIG and there is no VG production company who is more creative.

Just watched the direct. It was a pretty big letdown. None of the announcements were exciting.

I'm honestly surprised splatoon 3 got announced for 2022 and we got nothing on any of the games that are very likely supposed to come out at the end of the year.

My son plays the daylight out of Mario Cart and Mario Party. Was looking for some info on possible new games in that direction but maybe later in the year.

Zelda and Metroid are big enough titles that they will warrant their own Directs.

Legend of Mana

I like my beloved Chawotte much better in trials of Mana

Legend should have been like Trials

Nintendo often layers announcements like this.

It's what keeps fans interested, but also infuriates them. Splatoon 3 is big news, a lot of people will and should be excited, but I don't think anyone was talking about it. Everyone was talking about BotW2 and Metroid 4. So, in Nintendo's philosophy, it makes sense to announce this instead, and keep people wanting the others. They know fans are basically Day 1 purchases for those games. They don't have to build excitement anymore.

So triple that excitement with Splatoon 3. Now there are 3 tentpole games over the next 24 months or so to be excited about.

And everyone knows we are expecting a Kart sequel and Odyssey sequel, but neither is confirmed. Those nuggets will come later.

Think of a big Zelda direct that also shows Splatoon 3 footage, then teases the next Kart. That's major, major news. That's what they set up for.

Yes, the anticipation of the major in-house franchises will always keep the fans on the hook and invested in the next Direct.

Slight SPOILER ALERT for Trials of Mana for those that have not played it already. My favorite part but I love it all.
