New Mario Golf game looks like it could be the best in the series. I’ve been waiting for them to put the RPG elements of the GameBoy games onto a console. Going to be fun af

Hold the excitement. Mario Tennis was ok. Not great, just ok.
I do hope they hit with golf, but outside of the Wii Sports/Fit stuff, the modern Nintendo sports titles have been meh.
They took all the strategy and skill out of Tennis for Aces. It became too much Kart-like/catch-up mechanic focused.

Agreed. I just don't want them to get too focused on the golf sim aspect and lose things like the level hazards, Piranha Plant traps, etc.
Folding things like Golf Story-type mechanics are a net win, though.

I think that Project Triangle Strategy game is the most intriguing. It looks a lot like what I was expecting Fire Emblem to be on the Switch.

Haven't played Aces so fair enough. I haven't played a Mario Tennis game since the one on the GameCube. Did Aces have a story mode with RPG elements like the Mario Tennis on GBA?

For sure. Those sports compilation games were meh to me. Same with Mario and Sonic in the Olympics (at least the first one on the Wii).

Damn that sucks. Hopefully that isn't the case for Golf. I loved playing on the courses where you could bounce the ball off the mountains in Toadstool Tour and Advanced Tour. I don't remember the 3DS game having stuff like that. Hopefully that is brought back.

They are probably holding off until they have a new trailer ready and that will be the reveal at the end.

They are not. My guess would be it isn't "Breath of the Wild," but "Breath of the " Something else. Or "Something else" of the wild, or something like that. They won't use 2.

I was super pumped about this, but I downloaded the demo before buying and I thought it was terrible. Didn't feel anything like the GameCube game, but didn't feel like an improvement either.

Seems like the Story mode also introduced your own Mii type character creation/stat improvement, RPG style. Two of those stats seemed directly related to the speed, sprint type mode we saw earlier in the trailer. Like Stamina and one was like Top Speed or something similar. I feel like story mode may be only available to compete in that "speed" mode... Hope I'm wrong.
I'm pumped anyway. Been waiting for a motion control Mario Golf and it's great that there is also button controls.

Well this makes me sad. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend.
They did mention that the game is still in development, and that they are looking for feedback from people that play the demo so they can make the game better, so maybe that will help.
