All those match cuts were really well done. The flames from the lamp matching to the exhaust, the wheels on the car matching to the spinning revolver cylinder, etc. Very well edited

From the developer....
quote:

“We think there’s a large audience for compelling stories that don’t require massive time commitments.”

Moving back to the linear story driven game play of the first 2 games and dropping the price is nice to hear.

That is nice. Mafia 3 got repetitive after a while.

Absolutely. Every game being open world is tiresome.

Very interested in this one. unique, new setting not really done before and gameplay will have a shake up with the knife fights and older style guns. Give me a solid 15 hour campaign and I’m all in

76 on metacritic. About 13 hours long. Definitely going to check it out at some point

I’ve long been a proponent of games being shorter because almost no games ever justify extremely long lengths other than rare cases like Witcher 3.

Still though 13 hours for 50$ game? This would be fine if it was a mind blowing experience but a 76 rating I think I’ll be waiting for a sale.

For reference Expedition 33 and Wuchang were 50$ and the former has given over like 200 hours of game time and the later I’m still working through but I imagine one run will take me 35ish hours.

Again nothing wrong with a 13 hour game but if you’re going to charge 50$ for it better be mind blowing

You just contracted yourself. We need more 10-15 hour, straightforward linear single player experiences that (presumably) don't cost development studios billions of dollars to make.

10-13 hours is fine as long as the story is good. Mafia II is about a 9 hour playthrough.

Uncharted 1-3 are about 10-12 hours a piece. The old Assassin's Creed games up until Origins are about 10-16 hours long.

On reflection youre right.

I agree with everything you said. I was wrong about conflating meta ratings with game being 50$. The game looks high quality. Ill be buying, as ive made it a habit to support anytime studios undercut the constantly inflating price of games

I didnt buy 33 because google says its only 30 hours and 60 for completionist.

It also says the 13 hours for mafia is if you only focus the main story, so theres that. 15 chapters total.

41.99 on cdkeys btw. Got an email from them that reminded me the game even came out

I don't see how anyone could play Expedition 33 and not deviate from the main story.

How long to beat says 33 main story is 28 hours.

For mafia the early polling has 11.5 hours.

Honestly I should probably play both these games because the longer games I don’t even get close to beating anymore. Just get bored with them.
