This is how EA gets people like you. No hate on you, but they know they're losing players but there's a population of players who miss NCAA... what do they do? they bring in a few more NCAA teams to tease you.

$60+ in their pockets easily.

2 questions:

can you play exhibitions with the college teams or do you have to do the player storyline thing to access them?

do they have the typical NFL playbooks or college-based playbooks?

you're right.

but to be fair, madden has never really gotten my money annually. i bought 18 for $12 during a PS+ sale.

no clue. this will probably be the determining factor on whether i really get it or not.

I learned my lesson last year. For years I just bought Madden like it was nothing and it always got stale after a week or two, wasting $60.

Last year I did the Origins pass and cancelled it after a week of Madden. Not even doing that this time around.

There are way too many other attention holding games out there for me to spend money on this.

I thought it was only during the story line?

Cringe with the cutscenes.

Omg, hope you can skip that garbage.

Just the story mode.

It’s an NFL game. The playbooks through the past few years have gotten a lot more diverse with read option and more spread concepts. This year they’re adding RPO.

Can someone please explain how they are able to put college teams in Madden, but not make an NCAA game.

They aren't using the likeness of players.

Hence, career mode.

And why can't an NCAA game do that?

Because it wouldn’t sell.

He’s not wrong. If they had to use randomized players, and you couldn’t do custom rosters, a lot less people would buy the game. The whole “we won’t us players likenesses, but you can do that yourself and everyone will use it” was a big draw. They couldn’t legally do that anymore, that’s why it won’t come back

i don't think that was the issue. the issue was the initial game release used player's likenesses of that season's game. they used everything but their names. everything was correct from postion/number/skin color all the way down to the city they were from.

i think they could totally make a game if the rosters were 100% randomized.

Really don't know.

I don't think it would sell to the lvl EA wants. Also what would you monitize? I guess like All Century teams or old Heisman player cards.

I don't play these games. Really don't care.
