Why can't you do custom rosters?

It's not EA responsibility if some random guy makes rosters based on the likenesses. They would not be culpable.

i.e. someone on Madden right now can go and make a quarterback named Trevor Lawrence or Tua Tagovailoa.

Broski I think you are confused by what he is saying.

But yeah, agree.

The hardcore Dynasty users will buy it and import their rosters. But with randomized players, there’s no H2H lobby or Ultimate team mode. It’ll be dead after 6 months with people asking for a H2H lobby.

don't think that was the issue. the issue was the initial game release used player's likenesses of that season's game. they used everything but their names. everything was correct from postion/number/skin color all the way down to the city they were from.

i think they could totally make a game if the rosters were 100% randomized.

There's probably a grey area they would want to avoid: team ratings.

So how far down are your ratings. LSU has an A defense. Okay, but why did it come out to that? Once you start getting into position groups, players could start arguing that those scores are based on them.

Never got into Madden much after the PS2. Bought it once for PS4, just doesn’t appeal to me anymore even with the college stuff. I’ll stick to NCAA 14 still

Have really hated all the madden games on this generation of consoles. Way too much going on in the presentation, almost too much player animation which makes the game play feel really clunky to me. The old games felt so much smoother (both ncaa and Madden).

I think MUT ruined Madden. Change my mind. I used to love the old madden online play. Play with regular teams. It was so advanced. you could go to your last 10 games against who you played. click on their profile. see their stats. see who they played. all kinds of in depth shite. now the just sell cards to people with no depth to the regular online play.

it seems to me that they tried way too hard to get away from the "ice skating" effect that the players had where it seemed like they just glided across the field. in their attempt to add real physics into the animations, you end up with the clunkiness that you refer to.

Then the skill level would have to be as well, and Alabama suddenly being the skill level of Tulane and ECU being a perennial favorite just doesn't make a ton of fricking sense.

shite would be awful

I’m a hugeeeee Franchise Mode guy dating back to 2003/2004. Always loved it and taking care of a team from Stadium wise all the way down to training camp drills with the team.

And yet ever since Ultimate Team came about this mode went to shite and they’ve done nothing to go back to it’s roots and make it better. Which is why I loathe Madden now. I didn’t even buy last years version for the first time in a long time.

This has pretty much been the case across the board for the EA Sports games that are still left.

Ultimate team in both FIFA and Madden have become the priority while neither game has even tweaked the career mode in the last 5 releases. It's so lazy, but because all these morons continue to buy the games, EA thinks they're doing nothing wrong and won't change.

They wouldn't have to adjust the skill levels. Any player claiming that a randomized player is based off of them because of the skill level would be laughed out of the courtroom.

I meant from a personal standpoint. They could still have rankings similar to the level of each teams abilities. I agree, it doesn’t make sense to make ECU a better team than Bama. Just because bama’s QB1 is 99 overall doesn’t make him Tua. Rankings are subjective and it’d be hard to prove that’s a likeness when everything else is completely random. Especially if it says he’s from Des Moine, Iowa and he’s a white man/#19.

Core Madden was definitely ruined by MUT but the franchise has never been more profitable for EA.

In a bubble, no, but this has already been to court. Trying to skirt the rule like that when it's obvious what you are doing is a recipe for disaster.

I don’t think MuT is a bad idea, I just don’t care for the execution of it. I very rarely play online for a multitude of reasons, so unless they develop an extensive offline mode for it (at least one I don’t have to do online against others), it has no purpose for me. I know how I can make it more engaging for me and other non online guys, but whatever.

And the presentation in sports games now is mainly excessive. People always says they want that pregame/halftime/postgame report and all that fluff, but for 90%of gamers, you look at it all once, maybe twice and turn that nonsense off. Realistic gameplay and deep game modes should be your top 2 priorities. I know everyone beats off about NBA 2K, and while they do have a variety of deep game modes, their gameplay has just as many if not more issues than Madden and their presentation is beyond excessive and pointless and what’s worse is you can’t turn 80% of it off. I mean do I really need to spend 2 minutes spamming my controls during the halftime of a game to get to the third quarter and watch the same schmuck do a stupid bicycle trick on the court in the background? I get it, that happens during some basketball games. Does it add anything at all to my gaming experience? Nope. In fact it takes away from it.

My biggest gripe with Madden has always been two things: Jetpack linebackers and that AI comeback. If they fix those two things, then I am happy with their gameplay.

what difference does it really make? even if Bama sucked and ECU was the powerhouse of the game, that doesn't stop the fans from going in and filling out the rosters correctly. just to prove my point, the rosters have been updated regularly ever since 2013. and not just once a year, numerous times a year. almost weekly ranking stats are changed from week to week during the season. i've never seen any kind of dedication from a gaming community. EVER.

Don’t throw at the CPU and in turn they won’t get more chances to comeback. Fixes both of your problems.
