Well OP specifically says Madden and FIFA, that's why I said with FIFA finally getting champions league and europa league it will sell like hot cakes based on that alone.
Won't even matter that it sucks, people can finally play with Barcelona/Man City/Man U/Liverpool etc after them being exclusive to PES for the last decade.
FIFA will see a big uptick this year for that license.

neat, but that won’t save EA’s image to the gaming community

i just don't get it. making an argument for FUT? ok
but FIFA already effectively had the CL. it's just adding a logo, essentially

EA lost me when they stopped making the NCAA Football game.

Nah they're getting all the stadiums as well for the first time, except Barcelona their stadium stays exclusive to PES.
You can also play the Champions League season/tournament which you couldn't before, it has its own mode.

I can't run multiple teams in Franchise mode.
WTF is that?
This is when they lost me. I used to love simming seasons and being able to play random games with any team I wanted during a season.
I actually bought last year's really cheap after the season because I hadn't played Madden in 6 years, wanted to see how it looked on PS4. There was a way to take control of all teams, but it was a complete pain in the arse, and I literally only wanted to play games, didn't care about managing the rosters or anything.

Yeah it’s a broken system. Just take Play Action for example, you can hot route the RB to block and not run th PA, but when the ball is snapped the AI all interact as if a PA was called. It’s why most Ranked Mathew it’s just an abuse of PA crossers.
M18 was a good start I’m the right direction with the frostbite engine but they still have these legacy problems, such as man coverage, PA, AI in general.
Madden also has distanced themselves from the offline gamer crowd. It is a BLAST playing in an (sim) online league with 31 other users. That’s when Franchise mode feels fun. Because of the leveling of players, drafting etc etc but offline, summing games, the game is dull and you have no control. I can’t decide my Run/pass splits, how often I want to blitz, whether to be aggressive or not, these are all things I could do in M12. Starting with M13, franchise mode became more online focused than offline.

on Madden 17 i just upload the newest rosters and then do a Fantasy Draft for the rosters and sim a franchise
the problem is it's just ridiculously easy to dominate a franchise over time...but that's true of all sports games i guess
i am playing fifa 18 right now and I got Stevenage promoted to the Championship (4th year. 1st ended mid table in league 2. 2nd won league 2. 3rd finished 2nd in league 1. now in 5th place in the GOATship) and I almost exclusively use scouted players and I'm about to have a 4.5 star team. if i sold my developed players i could build a mid table EPL team with ease
in both i play like every 4th-5th game

and just for gameplay issues, there was a madden around 06 or 07 that had a passing cone. if you want to really create a good football game, you need to bring back that cone. the problem is too many glitchers and 8 year olds would lose their minds
real simulation football, boys

I love Madden but this is the last year for me. And the only reason why I haven’t traded it in is because of Online Franchise, but even that’s sort of bad.
EA should be ashamed but the YouTubers and guys who spend thousands of dollars every year for MUT are the real culprits. They focus on that mode the most and leave everything else in the dust.

Need wizziko to check in. He's the biggest EA hater on the board.

Don't agree. Every year isn't fantastic, but there have been several changes and improvements. Especially in past 3 years. With game about soccer, completely changing the engine the game uses makes a huge change in how it plays.

NO
as long as retards keep funneling cash to them via loot boxes(packs) for FIFA and Madden, this shite does little, but continue the black eye they have always had.
They have always been the worst game company. But the past decade they became shitty and arrogant. Until the morons stop buying packs for FIFA and Madden, EA will continue to be a shitty, arrogant company.

The head of Star Wars for EA left recently. It was unclear if he was fired one left on his own volition. He had made 43 million the previous year though.

yeah, he was the d-bag who told battlefield fans 2 either accept the SJW movement in the game or f-off.
He either got paid to go away, or left after getting that big bonus, knowing BFv sales were horrendous. Who knows, gaming media is in the back pocket of the big game creators, so truth might he hard to get
Posted on 8/21/18 at 8:28 pm to SlowFlowPro
Probably not, since they still have NFL exclusivity.

Not always. They were awesome back in the Sega Genesis days (especially when Trip Hawkins was still there).
