If Next Gen game prices go to $70, will your buying habits change?

For me, I would say yes.

I already have a hard time stomaching $60 for a game unless the reviews are just absolutely incredible. Even then I tend to wait and see what actual player reactions are.

More and more I find myself waiting to play new games until they go on sale down the road because I just don't feel like I am getting $60-$70 worth out of a game most of the time.

If I know if it the type of game that I am likely to get 50+ hours of play out of then I am more likely to pay full price, but if I am likely to get 6, 8, 10 hrs from a game I will definitely wait for it to go on sale.

I don't pay full price for shite anymore unless I know people I trust who've played it

Not at all. It's $10 extra. I don't buy a ton of games on release date anyway. The biggest problem I have are buying games on sale and never getting around to them

Hell, we were paying $50-60 for SNES and N64 games back in the 90s

I think games will go towards subscription services like Game Pass. You will end up having 3 or 4 $10 a month service to pay for to get all the games.

I did the convert your Live to Game Pass deal and I have definitely played a lot of games I never would have considered buying or tying with Game Pass.

Nah not really. If the game deserves it, I'm fine paying a premium

God of War and that level of quality? Sure

NBA and Madden and shite? Not a chance

i get that mindset, but i can't justify $60-70 for a single player game. can you imagine spending that much for a movie ticket? that's how i feel about it. i get more replay ability from multiplayer games.

my only exception to this rule are batman games. i'm a whore for those (except lego batman).

movies last 2 hours, god of war is 30 hours. if a game is 10-12 hours but replayable, thats fine with me too

i dont get caught up in the "need to calculate my $ per hour" bullshite that the people on reddit do. it's just money, i dont care as long as the experience is worth it.

I would have paid $100 for games like Red Dead 2 and Fallout New Vegas, so no.

I would pay more for the next BOTW game, because the first one I ran around and played over 135 hours. I could have gone longer too.

I will not pay that much for a game that takes me about 20 hours and not multiplayer.

If it's a top tier game no, typically buy the the step up digital version of the game for $69 already anyways if it includes a few good bonuses over the standard edition.

And then on PC deals are always so common or just buying 2nd hand codes for cheap cheap.

I can't even remember the last time I paid 60 for a game.

I have played Persona 5 for 200 hours and I'm at 60 hours for Persona 5 Royal - still have 1/3rd of the game left and will play it again once I beat it. That's just one example, there are many more games that are more than deserving of $70. Especially, if increasing the price by $10 helps cut back on micro-transactions.

This is why PC gaming is far superior. I never pay full price. Typically wait for a sale.

Hell I’d pay $70 a game now if they included everything in the original. They intentionally withhold shite for you to buy that DLC. I’m not exactly saying anything new here, I know.

The games I buy are at least a year old, most of them two or more. I've got enough of a backlog of games that I don't need to buy anything day one. I'd rather wait until they're cheap.

My buying habits changed when developers couldn't bother to actually finish a game before releasing it. Steam Sales all the way.
