Why do I need to seek help? It is merely a legit question on a gaming board about the extremely poor performance of one of the big 3 and the likelihood of them undergoing the transition to third party publishing all backed up by numbers and receipts. It isnt a rant without merit. Again, offer a rebuttal if you disagree not just deflection.

What continues to be laughable is bitches on this board have done nothing but insult and make jokes that stopped being funny in 2010 all because they cant deny anything in the OP.
Maybe if you didn't present your side of an argument like a PO'd high school cheerleader mad at her ex-boyfriend, you could get some genuine responses. You could be right on every single thing you said in the OP, but it doesn't matter if your delivery stays as childish as you have shown in just about every post in this thread.
If you want to have an adult conversation though, I wouldn't be surprised to see them turn completely to a cloud based gaming service. I've tried it a few times and it was pretty similar to when I play on the Steam app on the TV running a game off my PC.

I'm not sure that the math makes sense for Xbox to be a console manufacturer. At best, they could just make some glorified Steam-machine type device.
At least with Sony, Playstation might be the only area of that company that's actually making money. It makes a little more sense for them to continue making exclusive games in order to push hardware sales.

There is rumors of MS coming out with something akin to a SteamDeck for a while now..... a device that will have both windows and Xbox OS. That may be the future of MS console development. A system that has everything long time XBox players are accustom to ( Game Pass, XBox Store, their game digital library, saves etc....) but also run Windows with the ability to side load Steam or Epic. I dont think MS abandons console hardware entirely but I dont think it remains the same model we've had for the past generations.

why would they just go full digital and keep making hardware which most know consoles are sold at a loss. If Xbox is selling 5:1 ratio to ps5 and the switch is almost certainly going to beat ps2 before it’s end as best console selling device ever the switch 2 will massacre them too, what possible business motivation do they have to continue making console hardware
There is not one, and they have known that for many years. The xbox console is simply a mechanism to get more people under the Microsoft umbrella of products, (the subscription game).
As the digital mode of game playing grows and becomes more acceptable Microsoft will eventually stop with the Xbox all together and they well be the dominant force in the digital gaming market. Sony and Nintendo will not have this luxury, and if fact their consumers will be under the Microsoft umbrella eventually as well.
Microsoft played the long game with the gaming market and they will eventually win. There is a reason why Microsoft is a 3 trillion dollar company and i is not because the damn Xbox

Somebody has been paying attention.

I know one of their execs has made comments going back at least a year if not several years that he wants Microsoft games to be playable on all consoles
That might be a good indication that they're going to go the SEGA route

If I was a betting man, eventually Xbox will no longer exist as a standalone home console. Microsoft will rely solely on gamepass and windows integration for PCs. Xbox will still exist but it will be solely as a portable device like the steam deck.

I dunno. Maybe. But they have been fighting for the living room for a long time.
Maybe they don't care as long as the money rolls in, but it's better for consumers to have more options not less.

Wish I had little enough shite going on in my life that I could care so much about some billion dollar corporation and the people that use it half as much as the OP.

I don't understand why so many people are even indulging this topic.

I kind of want to. The GB needs guys like him…willing to poke the bear. To make a thread worth clicking and lol at the rustled jimmies.
It’s just…he doesn’t go about it the right way. He’s got a lot to learn. He’s got the ideas/subjects to troll about…it’s just how he goes about it. It’s too complicated.
The tread should have started as so:
Title: How long until xbox ditches the dream of competing with Sony/Nintendo?
“When will xbox wake up? It’s clearly not having the success of PlayStation and Nintendo when it comes to console sales and quality exclusives.
You can’t move a console when its hardware is no better or worse than what’s its competing against without quality exclusives.
Well…..I guess you can since Nintendo’s has done considerably better with less hardware….but we all know why it’s done better ::cough:: ::exclusives:: ::cough::
Anyways…why doesn’t Microsoft just ditch the console and become something like steam? “
That lesson is free TD. I’ll charge next time.

It seems you said more or the less the same thing I did in less words and less details. If I was intending to troll you’d actually 100% be right because when trolling the more context you attempt to give or evidence for your claims you usually end up looking like a fool.
So yes if my intention was trolling you’d be 100% right and I’d thank you for your lesson. The thing is I’m not trolling, it was a legitimate question that offered plenty of evidence and logic to back up the conclusions I personally have drawn and wanted to know what anyone else though specifically people who consider themselves “Xbox fans” as cringe as that is. Just because I’m not super nice about the things I say and don’t worry about hurting peoples feels I guess that rustles Jimmie’s up a bit. Again my positions are
- anyone who is a fanboy or blows off a major corporation like they’re you’re besty or lover is a cringe loser. I personally buy PlayStation and explained my reasons for it ITT, mostly being they have traditionally been the home fkr FF games and they simply have had better service and offerings since the 360. Sony pretty much sucks a lot of cock too but in a different way that Xbox mostly. If anyone wants to make a thread about Sonys specific problems I’ll gladly partake
- Xbox business mode is fundamentally retarded, insulting to all those who have bought into the ecosystem, and doomed to fail. I’ll explain below in broken down parts consisting of 3 main things
- Cultivation of talent, exclusive titles, and properly handling those studious you create and acquire. This one SHOULDNT need much laboring on the point. Xbox (this is most likely actually higher up than Phil Spencer so I should say Microsoft) is worse than anyone in the industry when it comes to creating new studios and having them flourish. 343 is a massive joke. They can only use their world leading 3 trillion market cap to attempt to acquire things people like but since they don’t have the proper management situation at the top this always fails. Starfield is the worst Bethesda game in god knows how long excluding 76 as its multiplayer. Tango gameworks gave them their best game in years without any support and was their only Japanese studio something they consistently never shut up about wanting to break into the market of and got the axe, Arkane Austin you could maybe make an argument for if you’re a good little company boy but Redfall is mostly not on them. It’s we’ll known they didn’t want to make it, Zenemax forced them to as having another live service title would inflate their sale value, and Xbox didn’t intervene despite employees specifically asking them to.
- The Xbox hardware, which will tie in with the 3rd and imo most dire issues they face. Xbox has been trying to be edgy cool new kid of gaming with their “Netflix of gaming you can play anywhere” just use “muh cloud” like internet infrastructure in the US let alone the world is anywhere close to being able to support this. There messaging is littler Xbox? Who even NEEDS an Xbox? Use your smart tv or tablet or phone or whatever.
- Gamepass. While it does seem appealing an very much is from a customer perspective don’t get me wrong gamepass is BY FAR the most customer friendly thing in video games it clearly has some much larger detrimental ramifications not good for gaming at large. We know that along with all other entertainment Xbox boomed during the pandemic then when the inevitable cliff hit all companies they suspiciously stopped reporting numbers after slyly like foxes rolling Xbox gold members into gamepass even though they aren’t want most would think of as gamepass members (exclusives day one, very extensive back catalogue, etc). With their absolutely mind blowing fricking stupid move of paying 70+ billion for Activision Xbox isn’t just a playing thing for Microsoft anymore. They have more scrutiny than ever and it’s time to start paying off their debt. This is why you see beloved studios like Tango folded. They were much like Arkane Austin in the pitch phase reportedly for high fi rush 2 and a Dishonered 3 respectively which means needing to hire more people which means frick off daddy Microsoft only wants to focus on “big blockbuster titles” or something per one email while needing “smaller games that give us prestige and awards” in another one from Matt Booty. I know hi fi rush wasn’t some no cost indie title many seem to think it was. It had 4.5 years of development and likely came in around a high ish double AA budget of about 5-6 million to make but you can’t deny the laughably dumbasserey of these statements.
Overall I’m worried about gaming as whole. I think multi platform is going by by far soon outside of specifically 1sr parry titles that imo will take a mode of release day and date on their hardware and pc and a year or more later when all dc is out and an ultimate edition can justify full price will make its way to Xbox/PlayStation and switch 2 if the system is capable of running it, and I think all of this is a good thing. However Sony and to a lesser degree Nintendo but by no means do not discount their ability for frickery will go hog wild arse fricking the customer without proper competition which in reality Xbox hasn’t been for a whole now but with the whole world know gamepass is STAGNANT AS HELL at 1-3% growth year over year and their last gasp being to put the new CoD on their which is a massive gamble that could very much help them but totally but frick them out of billions and billions im just worried about the future of the hobby we all love
