I REALLY want to like this game. I put around 10 hours into it around a year ago and just couldn't get into it. Not sure what it is...

Anyway I am debating on getting a 4K TV and the PS4 Pro.

Would my second try at the game be worth waiting on getting those?

Graphically, Horizon will shine with that set up. One of the best looking games to come out this generation.

What's not clicking with you? I had a slow start with it but eventually it became my GOTY last year.

I loved the game from the beginning, the story really sets up nicely later in the game.

I'm the same way with Witcher 3. I had to force myself to sit down and play through until I began to dig it.

Game starts really slowly. Lots of bad main & sidequests, poor voice acting, repetitive mechanics, etc. It got VERY good once the main story started to go places

Stick with it, trust me. Really enjoyed it once it got going. Main story is awesome

Glad you said this. I had the same problem as the OP, but I’ll stick it out and give it another shot.

I imagine the complaints about it. There is one of the only places I've seen complain about some of more acclaimed Sony exclusives.

Or just somoene in a hurry to create a bad username that he thought was creative.

Not sure how this thread is a troll, though.

I almost beat the game and still thought it was bla.

There’s just nothing really that interesting about it.

I will finish it one day but as of what I’ve seen, it feels odd.

I felt the same way. It seemed right in my wheelhouse.

Something about it never sucked me into that world.

Extremely forgettable.

I'm playing through it right now and early on basically guessed the entirety of the story... But it's still alright, I actually really enjoy taking down the hunting grounds every time I run across one. The skill tree is a little disappointing and the hack mechanics are just kinda bland. The story is original and pretty cool, but I've seen better.

All in all it's just like most (good) open world games: starts out super slow, but can be enjoyable if you stick it out to the end, and will not be for everyone

This is it. Just "alright".

The game is well made with exceptional graphics with sound mechanics. The story is okay with a little twist.

IDK what it is but the world and playing the game just feels boring.

I say once you complete Mother's Heart or when you are in the corporate office watch the cut scene between her mom and the CEOdude the game picks up and becomes mildly interesting. It has been a year since playing the game. I really do not remember much from it. Like I said, extremely forgettable IMO.

The DLC was pretty good, and they improved the cinematics a bunch. Also try playing on UH New Game +. It’ll kick your arse.

Best main story in a video game that I've played in a long time.

Beautiful (even on base PS4) and creative world design.

That said, the side missions weren't very memorable, the voice acting was pretty poor for a lot of the NPCs, and I did not like the combat much at all.

I won't defend the voice acting at all, but I had no problem with the side quests. Thought they were very well layered and interesting. I was genuinely upset when I discovered that I had found every quest there was to find.
