On an emotional level, what game has impacted you the most out of any game? Mine personally would be silent hill 2.

Without question for me it is To the Moon. That is the only game to ever make me literally cry, although I came close at the end of Final Fantasy 15 too.

I still feel extremely guilty for some of the stuff I did on my Sith play-through of KOTOR.

I would say the ones that bring fond memories are the first 3 halos, the red dead’s. All the Mario’s, and Sega Genesis sonic, road rash and Mortal Kombat at 1 and 2

If you mean games that made me rage the most, then its probably Double Dragon 2. Those disappearing platforms near the end really pissed me off.

As far as actual in-game plot it's Red Dead 2 and it's not even close.
As far as being emotionally impacted by the completion of a game, probably still Red Dead 2 but I can also throw Witcher 3 in there. It sucked finally finishing up knowing there wasn't anything new left.

I murdered so many ghosts in Pac Man. They are just running around and I just kept eating them. They just taste so good.

Morrowind. First time I finished the main quest felt like the end of an actual adventure.
Mass Effect 3 ending is another, not all positive.

As bad as the late game was, Final Fantasy 15. The scene at the end after the early good times and having been through hell with your friends. You get a moment of peace where everyone understands you're about to sacrifice yourself to save the world, then you select a picture (I chose all four together) and they see you off as you step into the void.

It's not really the game, but it kinda is. FFVII and more recently FFVII Remake come with some emotional baggage for me. My mom died when I was in 8th grade, and that Christmas I got the Playstation and FFVII. When Aerith died, it was obviously sad but it didn't affect me much at the time.
Over the years I've listened to Aerith's theme a lot and would occasionally tear up for no discernable reason (I just thought, oh sad song, that's weird). Then I finally played FFVII Remake and when the hints start dropping that you might somehow save Aerith (change fate), I don't know, I just started sobbing uncontrollably. I've realized I still have a lot of unprocessed stuff from that time, and I definitely used the first FFVII as an escape. Hearing Aerith's theme with a hint of hope just kinda unlocked all that.
Sorry for the overshare, but it really affected me when it happened.

Kingdom Hearts still weirdly gets to me emotionally when I replay it every 5 years or so.

Death Stranding made me feel something from a game I’ve never felt before

***SPOILERS***
Cyberpunk 2077
I was trying to get all of the endings, and one is where V commits suicide rather than kill a bunch of people to get to the final goal.
The recorded messages at the end are rough, obviously, but the one from Judy will outright destroy you. The voice actress deserved a freaking award for that scene, I swear.
Hell, if I were making a PSA for an anti-suicide message, I'd be hard pressed to top that.
Suicide Ending, queued to Judy's message
The message is the same regardless if V is male or female, same for Panam's, etc.

quote:Right there with you. KH2 specifically crept its way into some weird place. That's another game I got the sads when I beat it.

That opening menu screen is one of the best ever. Just naturally nostalgic.

I want to say that a novel kind of retconned the ending.

Mass Effect Trilogy. Only time I can recall a game/s making me emotional with regards to the characters and story.
