I’m all about new players in the market, but I have low expectations. If he lets the creatives cook, it could be good. But I have a feeling this is going to be an AI driven mess with Musk grabbing the wheel whenever he gets bored. Hopefully I’m pleasantly surprised in a few years.

Earlier this month he was talking about being a top ranked Diablo 4 player in the world. I thought the same thing when I heard him say that. I thought you would need to be spending a lot of time playing D4 to move that high in the ranks

Yeah he's a beast at Diablo. Has streamed quite a few times on X doing the highest level dungeons with friends.

2. D&D just isn't a good investment. Wizards tried but you can't really monetize TTRPGs these days. Someone can be an avid D&D'er and never use an official product and you can't exactly trademark imagnations

Once you start playin you can determine anything you want.
I know the hardcore D&D gamers wish it was crunchier with the mechanics, but I dont get being mad about it being “woke” or even how it’s woke.

I'm hopeful but it's pretty damn ironic for the guy that owns 2 of the biggest corporations in America to say too many game studios are owned by massive corporations so he's gonna start one lol

ah well, more competition almost always benefits the consumer unless he starts buying up studios like FromSoftware and forcing exclusive licenses

he probably read that article claiming it went woke when they made a change from everything being half-human to where you could be half any race. i remember it being some big arse misunderstanding controversy

AI is still pretty far off from making decent games. It'll be fine for certain mechanical needs, but writing a coherent story long enough for a AAA game is way off in the distance.

How can you look at the progress made in the last couple of years and say something like it's way off in the distance. It's on an almost exponential growth curve.
