Unfortunately this is a wait for EA Play on gamepass unless word of mouth is amazing. Not expecting that.

Generally I like skill up, so I just watched the first half
--Andromeda face animations
--voice acting is stilted and emotionless
--No internal party conflicts ever
--No real choices made until the end of the game
--No manner to be a renegade type character
--dialogue choices are: Nice, Nice but funny, Nice but slightly stern
--dialogue is always 100% inoffensive, said every convo seems like it takes place in front of HR.
--No dark moments. . . .at all
--romance options are completely inconsequential
--Zero quest variety
--Says the zones feel more like Overwatch levels, than exploration zones
--Unable to convey ideas and concepts in dialogue without explicitly stating them
--Generic cartoonishly evil villains upstage Solas
--Combat is easy and not much enemy variety.
Jesus. . .I'm pretty depressed now. I hope there are enough shills to buy this to get us a Mass Effect game
frick

Pretty much me. DA isn’t important to me; ME is. Hopefully this doesn’t kill that project.

Why would you want them to ruin Mass Effect too?

I mean, sanitized dualogue is more natural in the context of a paramilitary organization.
But they would probably put the same trans activist pos in charge of THAT, too
I am getting from the review that this game is basically Dragon Age: Andromeda

They already have

Andromeda didn't ruin ME. It's not good, but once they patched it up, it's not horrible. The question will be weather they continue going down that (wrong) path with the next ME game, or whether they move back towards the original trilogy.
Veilguard is certainly an alarm, but ME is currently so early in development that there's plenty of time to course correct, if they want to.

I don't know what Veilguard is yet, but Inquisition was basically Dragon Age Andromeda albeit a much more polished version.

This is what’s been catching me a bit off guard lately. DA:I was thrashed when it came out. DA:V may very well be worse, but the gap between DA:I and DA:V could still be smaller than the gap between DA:O and DA:2 or DA:2 and DA:I. Or it could be bigger. Jury is still out. But it surprises me that people are pretending as though DA:2 and DA:I weren’t considered massive disappointments after DA:O.

As a different game, perhaps. As a ME game, I did not like it at all.

I think I’m up to three or four near-100% trilogy playthroughs at this point, so believe me, I hear you. Andromeda got a ton wrong, and I hope that the series doesn’t continue down that path. But in trying to stay objective, I acknowledge that it could have been a lot worse.

You’re right the ending of ME3 ruined it first

Also disagree, but I’ve had that conversation on here enough times for me to be disinclined to have it again on an utterly unrelated thread

just yanking your chain. I finally played the legendary edition and the QOL improvements were very nice and I had totally forgotten Counselor Troi played Liara’s mom
You bastard
Yeah, they did a great job with LE, though I wish they had given more attention to 2 and 3. If you’ve never done a midden playthrough, I would highly suggest it. There’s some really great content out there that smoothes out some of the bigger issues I have with the later games.

Should I play this or FF7 Rebirth for the first time on my PS5 Pro next Thursday?

To this day, I'm proud of the gaming community for forcing them to change that.
Bioware: This is how the trilogy ends
Gamers: frickin' no it's not dude
Bioware: You right, our bad
