BF5

the CEO literally said don’t buy the game if a black female with a robot arm in 1943 bothers you

i do miss the days of shitting on a game for it being a piece of shite, rather than just going straight to the politics, true or not. certainly the gaming industry is pushing an agenda in a lot of their games, but some of you go out of your way to find it to be offended too. just dont buy it and move on with your lives

You can have trans top surgery scars in a fantasy game with magic.

Think about that for a minute.

It's character creation. There's literally no way to avoid it. You can't go out of your way to find it.

no problem. I’m happy to provide my feedback with my money. As I’m sure are many others, so why not just play it smart by not putting anything overly controversial on your game.

overt gun violence against innocent civilains. not appropriate these days.

violence against women (Ill explain what this is later to you sic). not appropriate these days.

lines in the sand have been drawn when it comes to this type of content and for the most part followed. are we not allowed do the same with the tranny and other LBTQLMNOP+ shite?

or are we supposed to just ignore it because it’s an untouchable subject now?

I already posted a few times in this thread but here is a scattershot list of points I didn't get the chance to make

1. This is Bioware. They were ultra-woke even before it was common. You got back 10-15 years most of the gaming industry still wasn't doing LGBT and DEI stuff but Bioware def was loudly and proudly. Them being on the ultra-cutting edge of this stuff is the least surprising thing ever.

2. I think the game will underperform. It looks like shite to me. Weird art style, weird color palette, will have bad word of mouth, etc. The gay stuff will only be a small part of the reason it flops though. Bioware and Dragon Age fans are use to this type of stuff, that won't be what keeps long time fans away, it may keep new players away from trying it though.

3. I think the push back of consumers to this type of stuff in general is definitely growing. As activists invaded these companies the stuff in the games started out subtle and mild, the type of thing you could easily not notice, o simply overlook or eye roll away and keep playing. They've been getting more and more aggressive about pushing freak show shite though and larger numbers of people have begun noticing. Once you begin noticing, you are on the lookout for it more so in future games. Consumers pushing back against this stuff is one of the three or four major reasons there have been such an avalanche of gigantic flops in the gaming industry lately.

Wish.com version of Raid Shadow Legends, and I think even that's being generous.

There is a meme out there (couldn't find it again) that had this image shopped into the Character creator with "100% chest and glutes"

Yes. the characters all look angular and plastic'y, very mobile'esque. Their faces just look very "off" in a way that's hard to describe.

On top of that everything looks generally underlit and saturated in purple and/or brown.

I have no idea wtf they were going for but they missed. You can make realistic work and you can make cartoony work but this is neither of those things.

If it doesnt effect gameplay and is limited to character creation does that still bother you?

I guess you can argue the game is going to be for mature audience but this is all part of the grooming.

Kids can go on YouTube and see chest scars. They are normalizing young women to remove their breasts. That’s all this is.

The continued... human-ifying? of the Qunari is a red flag for me, as odd as that might sound. While it's a minor thing, unique character models becoming more human is generally not an artistic choice; it's generally a corner cutting technique to save on the extra work that would go into a unique model. If they are cutting corners that hard on one of very few unique races in the game, that doesn't bode well for other areas.

Damn. That looks horrendous.

Disregard the humanifying, it just looks bad.

It works with the “alien” appearance, but the horns and the GIANT human forehead just look weird as hell.

Also, this goes back to the general design choices of games now.

Why can’t I tell if the pic on the left is male or female?

So as a mild defense, the one on the right is from DA2, which is considered peak Qunari. If you look up DA:I, they had started going down that path pretty heavily.

But this is easily, easily worse than even DA:I.
