I miss the SI integration on the earlier versions. It was still fine once they went full ESPN on everything, but the layout of the dynasty with SI covers and articles covering everything was really cool.

EA has stated that 70% of their sales come from FIFA which you can thank FUT for ruining every game, including FIFA, since they realized the art of loot boxes. I hope to GOD they don't make some ultimate team BS in this game after the NIL stuff passes.

They aren't irrational at all.

quote:

- no one besides you gives a frick about fcs teams

That's bullshite right off the top. People like making low end teams into powerhouses and moving FCS teams up is fun to do. They had begun to put them in the older games and then took them away for generic FCS North/South/East/West bullshite. It was lame as hell b/c it took away from the realism of the game. Then not allowing you to create new teams and adding them w/o forcing you to remove a team made it all the worse b/c as teams moved up you couldn't have real conferences anymore.

quote:

- playoffs weren't a thing at all when the game was made. It wasn't until the following year that the bcs was abolished and playoffs started

No shite but having a playoff was a feature from older versions of the game that they inexplicably took away. Taking away previous features for no good reason is trash and is only done b/c EA is too fricking lazy and cheap to pay people to program it in.

quote:

- online team builder was awesome

No. It wasn't. Putting it online would have been a way for them to eventually force you to buy a new version b/c it would have been deactivated once new versions were released. It only stayed up b/c the series had been canceled.

Again, the game had started to fall apart. The menus were slow AF to load, recruiting had been turned into a boring slog, the commentary was stale and broken, they weren't updating stadiums, they took away full control of schedules so you were stuck with whatever conference schedule the computer gave you, and it was clear they were putting far less effort into it than Madden.

It wasn't a good game anymore. This is coming from somebody bought series yearly since it started out as Bill Walsh College Football on the Sega Genesis.

Lol I quit playing madden and stopped buying the new fifas a couple years ago when they had the ads playing in game on top of the micro transaction loot boxes. Such a piece of shite studio.

I really hope Teambuilder gets redone as well. As it stands now, you can create a team on the site but you can’t upload it on to the game (at least for console).

My biggest hope for this game is that they allow as much customization as possible.

All of that is alleviated with simply allowing users to edit rosters. EA just has to make every white player a black dude and vice versa and be done with it.

Of course then they'll likely get shite for putting too many white guys in the game so maybe that's a bad idea.

Does everybody have a victim complex these days? Lord. Although I swear like 2/3 of the running backs in recruiting were white, so this might actually make things more realistic.

Also:

quote:

The game will include school names, logos, traditions, fight songs, mascots, colors, uniforms and stadiums. Navigating around potentially litigious NIL matter was a delicate situation, and barring users from being able to customize players to their liking was an important stipulation for the schools, said Cory Moss, CLC’s chief executive.

Well if that's the case the game won't sell and they will abandon the project after one year. I don't know how allowing users who have purchased the game to edit it in any way holds them liable

Because they have the power to allow users to do it or not.

All I play is dynasty, so having accurate current rosters or the ability to edit them really doesn't matter for me...although I'm sure I'm in the minority on that one.

I'm gonna be starting at some 1* school and building them up, so I try to cycle out the current rosters as quickly as possible anyway.

That being said, I agree with you. I could potentially see an issue with sharing custom rosters, but I'm not sure why we can't edit the rosters ourselves. I can create Dave Chapelle in Madden....so do I owe him royalties now?

I’ll still play it if they don’t allow me to manipulate rosters but I imagine most will not

Yeah, I play dynasty by myself, but when playing online or just with friends I want real rosters. Online Dynasty will make it attractive still

Somebody will figure out a way to break EA’s codes regardless and make the rosters. They always do. Hell look how much they been able to accomplish on 2014

Tulane, Notre Dame, and Northwestern have all pulled their names from being allowed on this game. I’d imagine more are going to follow suit.

I’m becoming less optimistic that this game becomes a reality.
