Shifting back and getting away from reviews completely missing the point or focusing on minutiae. The bugs seem minor and they’ll be fixed soon - it’s that exactly which leads me to wait a bit than playing at launch.
On a positive note, reviews of gameplay and story elements seem to be very largely positive as expected. Seems there’s a ton of room for them to build on as well, so this will be built on and improved for years to come with DLCs and new features. All really encouraging signs for such an ambitious project

Slightly off topic but how long does it usually take for consoles to have their first price cut? Prob this time next year for Christmas 2021?
It took 2+ years for the PS4 to drop $50... would guess Holiday 2022 for current gen.

Yup - I feel like if you have a next gen console and a new backlog of games it might be a good idea to wait. Personally as a PS5 owner I'm planning on waiting for the standalone PS5 version, but if the tea leaves show that won't come until late into 2021 I may bite early on the PS4 version.
If I was a strictly a PC player I would probably buy it now.

Sounds overwhelming.

I’m only worried about the optimization and bugs. Hopefully most of what people are running into are addressed in the 43 gig day 1 patch.

Can we make this the political cyberpunk 2077 review thread?
Someone make another thread where we try to focus on the game. Thanks.

There's always a fine line between overwhelming and tedious.
As long as it doesn't feel tedious like GTA4 I'm good.

Well from what I just watched the main story is apparently much shorter than you would expect from an RPG, assuming you just focus exclusively on the story progression.
It would appear they went for an extremely dynamic game rather than a super long one. Some reviewer said he personally found 6 drastically different endings and there are probably a lot more. There are apparently choices you make all over the place that affect the game throughout.
Akin to RDR2, this game appears to be a world sim as much as an RPG.

I hope the Nvidia drivers and Day 1 patch fix some of the optimization issues I am hearing about.
Sounds like I'll be lucky to pull 60 FPS at Medium settings on 1440p with my rig, with ray tracing completely off:
RTX 2070
i5-9600K
2x8 GB DDR4 3000Mhz

Ya, looks like I'll wait until I can snag a 3080 before I play this.

Reviews still had denuvo DRM, so performance will be a little better as the Day 1 patch removes the DRM. Probably not a lot though.
Still mad I couldn't get a 6800XT for it though.

I'm still waiting for the metacritic to drop. I keep checking it.. still super excited. When I get home for lunch I am going to download the latest Nvidia drivers and then at launch download this bad boy. Probably not starting the game until Thursday though.

If a reviewer has a hardline political view which they then use in their critique of the game, it will affect their score. You can't divorce the two.

Every time I see a review like this it makes me want to buy the game. I don't care if I even know what the game is or about....These reviews generally means its a really good game or movie.

I watched a few spoiler-free previews, to add some context:
- A lot of players seem to be having initial issues driving I think the controls are more sensitive than what people are used to in games like GTA V. Just be aware.
- Lots of random bits to flesh out the world.
- Muselk stumbled across the red light district, and it was pretty amusing.
- Starting a random shootout on the streets gets you killed pretty damned fast.

I've heard that too - I generally can't 1st person drive worth a damn in games like GTA, so likely 3rd person is the best way to control.
Apparently the motorcycles are badass as opposed to the cars in game. Fast travel is available too but not as necessary as opposed to games like Witcher 3.

I bought and installed it but I think I am going to avoid threads and wait for additional patches. Seems like there are a TON of bugs with some being game breaking.
I waited a few months on Witcher 3. I think I will wait on this one.

The truth is, most alphabet people actually hate themselves. Which is way they try so hard to do the "PRIDE!" thing, it's overcompensation.
So, does that logic also apply to white supremacists? Is their white pride them overcompensating because they hate themselves?

"Most" of them don't care. It's the vocal minority's shouts that you're attributing to the majority.
Like saying QAnon is the voice of Conservatives.

I might do the same. Already purchased and preloaded but may just get the new patch when it drops and give it a couple weeks for more potential patches. Don’t want my experience soured.
