Meh, that's some journalists opinion that used some other person's great opinion and went with it. It'd be cool to see some of the devs to step up and offer the legit explanation since I didn't look too far into the whole elevator deal.

Well, I linked that because it gets the gist of the argument across. I could link all the forums on reddit and what not that go for it as well.

With as well as they did with the story, I don't think they would have left using the elevator by Elizabeth's powers so obscure, if that was how they did it. You were the one that controlled it.

I know I originally posted that article but I think that the author got that part wrong.

The biggest reason is the timelines don't add up. Bioshock is set in the 60's and Infinite is in 1912.

Comstock/Dewitt was born in 1874. He would be 86 years old in Bioshock 1.

Now, I've seen people try very hard to draw intricate, and sometimes senseless connections between Rapture's Bioshock games and the new one in Columbia. The connections are few, and mostly not direct. The few direct connections include; Fink seeing Rapture technology through a tear, turning plasmids into vigors, and big daddies into handymen. There are no connections between the characters, as the games take place several decades apart. However, there is the theme, there is always a man, always *a lighthouse, always a city. This implies that Rapture only exists in timelines where Columbia never existed. Not failed. never existed. Because the mistake was never made, and if Comstock didn't teach the world how foolish the idea of an isolated Utopia was, Ryan would not think twice about the grandeur of his dream.

30 minute bioshock ending discussion from gamespot that literally discusses the moment after you finish the "final boss" fight until the bonus at the end after the credits are done rolling

So is there any difference in the final battle depending if you choose the bird or the cage?

I figured the ending would. But what about the note sent back to change the future and the battle using the songbird?

Literally, the choices do not matter. They are purely there to cause stress.

If you choose the bird, the note still has a cage on it.

I chose the cage and thought there was some significance attached to the note, but I was informed by a multitude of bird choosing players that they too received the cage note.

I also chose the cage. Was hoping there might be some difference for replay value.

Was the guy taking the video of the girl singing during the credits trying to get an upskirt shot?
