Mines crashed some but the auto save is always just a minute or two before the crash. Still annoying

I have cloud saves... but they’re from power level 37. This POS game allegedly auto-saved 20 minutes ago to that level.

I was up over 45 and had just finished up killing Somas traitor and finish the Grantebridgescire quest line. Had like 90% of the area cleared. Now it’s back to like 50% and I have to raid with the 3 stooges again.

You never quite know what you're going to get either, so the weapon/armor may not even be something you'd want to use with your spec.

Welcome to every RPG ever.

I've largely just upgraded the armor/weapons that I've had since the start of the game.

That sounds retarded. "I'm gonna protest by wearing my newbie gear, then bitch about the game".

Also, I'm not saying Valhalla will have me jumping off the AC train, but after going back through some of the older games in the series, it's evident that they've really lost their way with this new style of game.

Sounds like you've already jumped off. I don't see the format of the game changing anytime soon

Doesn't seem much different than Odyssey except there are no naval battles

It's not quite that simple as you can upgrade your gear throughout the game.

It isn't, but but even releasing an AC every two years instead of every year, this gameplay is going to get stale faster than the old games.

I am fully aware. The Raven set is not that great compared to Mentors or Brigandine for example. Stat wise there isn't much variation between them but the armor set bonuses are much different. Not to mention if you spec into a skill tree that doesn't give the bonuses to that type of armor.

Same with weapons, there's not a massive difference in stats but it's all about the bonus they give...

I've come to the same conclusion...I'm currently taking a break from it. Having to find a convoluted hidden path every time to reach run-of-the-mill, underwhelming loot just kinda has me bored.

Loot quests were enjoyable in Odyssey for the most part because it was good gear or good benefits like the Steles for upgrading stats. One reason I played that game so far. Also the fact you could farm Orichalum to bypass the Helix credit BS.

Looting in this game sucks arse. As does having your own village but NOT having the ability to farm resources other than ore. Like, you’re a goddamn Viking with an axe and you can’t farm wood for arrows or buildings? How stupid is that?

I’m taking a break though because I’m salty as frick losing some three or more hours of gameplay due to a crash during a quest.

frick. That. And frick. Ubisoft.

I'm just at the part where I'm trying to finish the game. Looted the first 4-5 lands clean but I'm tired of that. Maybe I'll come back and finish the other lands when DLC drops.

I was so stoked for the Norse setting after being disappointed with the direction they took God of War in, but this is not really that fun of a game. Hopefully they go to Japan next.

If the next God of War insists on being a Open World RPG, then please do a Central/South American setting.

A samurai game would be pretty dope with the mythological elements you could add.

This game... is a gorgeous shell enveloping a rather lackluster game.

Just a tip in case anyone is as daft as me..
You have to set the alliance map on the section you want to move to next..

I spent 3 hours clearing out lunden looking for my next task in the story..

Set the knife in the map and there we go!..

I felt dumb.

Well I’m still enjoying it but I’m a big fan of all things Viking. Also I’m only at like 20 hours and it seems like everyone’s breaking point comes at about the 40 hour mark.

Regardless, I enjoy combat, exploration is fun, story’s pretty good and I like the territory arcs. East Anglia was pretty awesome with Oswald.

shite I’m at 60 hours or so and still loving it. Much tighter game than Odyssey, which I’ve yet to finish.

Yeah I don’t understand how someone could like Odyssey and dislike this game.

Combat’s better, graphics are better and like you said just feels like the formula is a bit more refined. And as I previously mentioned, it’s fricking Vikings.

Not to mention you can switch back and forth between the male and female Eivor at will.

I got quite a few hours in playing Alexios before I realized Kassandra was the much better version, with no ability to switch to her without starting over.

I’m really enjoying this the more I play.

I just beat East Anglia and really enjoyed that storyline.

14 hours later and I’m finally in England. Loving the new landscape. All the cut scenes between leaving Norway and getting to England were brutal, just let me play damnit lol
