I'm pretty sure my external hard drive crashed last night. I was in the middle of my game and it brought me back to the home screen and said I needed to insert disc or download game to play. I'm fricking pisssseedddd. I don't think I got that far in the game but I've still put in close to 30 hours.

Seems I got lucky. The only thing remotely wrong with my game is the drunk bug. I never crash or anything.
Knock on wood though. I’m at 90 hours and will be so pissed if something happens.

I'm currently stuck on the A Sword Shower in Anecastre. Every time I pledge to go to Lincolnshire, Eivor won't leave the table. Can't access the my inventory or map. Have to quit to the main menu every freakin' time. Ubisoft forums say they are aware of the matter though. Just have to wait them out.

I’m 90 hours in. Here are my thoughts.
The combat is so good. Someone here said Odyssey was better. 100% false. The dual wield is awesome and there are way more kill animations. Also, the skill tree is a mess but the abilities you can unlock are awesome. Throwing weapons, stomping, etc. is all major upgrades from Odyssey.
I love the idea of weak spots for critical chance. Some of the runes are awesome. I have one that creates a ring of fire around me when I parry an attack. Love it.
I agree with the person who said the bows were better in Odyssey. I liked carrying two bows despite it being unrealistic. I used the predator bow all the time in Odyssey but I really only use Hunter bow now.
As for the bosses, I enjoy those a lot. Most of them are unique. Although the double arrow shot is OP so I have to stop myself from using it.
I’m conflicted on the story of this one so far. I actually like most of the side quests. I like how you have to figure it out instead of directions being flashed on the screen. I thought the side quest where you blow up the brothers’ grain silo was hilarious.
As for the main story, I’m not quite sure. Some Arcs are better than others. Both Ragnarsson arcs were fun. The Eurvicshire/Jorvik one was awesome. I found the Grantebridgescire one boring. The ones with Fulke were good although I found her a weak character.
I love Asgard and Jotunheim. I agree the Ymir stones are little boring, but I just love the map. It looks incredible visually, and the story was really fun.
One of my favorite things they did was not making the story completely dominated by the Cult/Order/Templars. It seems like it’s more secondary in this game compared to the Eivor/Sigurd story.
By far the worst part about the game is the gear. In Oddysey you could find a legendary weapon in a chest. I loved constantly switching out weapons and armor so you can get the highest power. In Valhalla it doesn’t matter because all gear is basically the same.
Also, I have 70 ingots sitting around doing nothing. I have 10,000 coins with nothing to spend them on. They really screwed up the entire gear situation. Odyssey’s system was awesome with the dismantling you could do.
So overall, a good game, but they could’ve easily made this an incredible game.

I haven’t played in about 3 weeks because of work and other shite and I’m finding it hard to go back. I’m 40 hours in maybe I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I thought i was. I’ve been aching to play FF7R since I have ps5 and couldn’t play on my previous xbone. I have to grind it out though I’ve left the last several games I’ve played incomplete, can’t do it again

Game is boring and the sidequests are 5 seconds long.
User previously said the Main Quest is the only interesting part of the game. . .so maybe I need to do that.
Game reminds me of Far Cry 5, where it seems like it has the ingredients to be good, but ends up boring.
There is no incentive to explore on Valhalla, which is sad.

All of this. I'm really wondering if they were rushed to meet the next gen release date so they chose gear to be the aspect that they scaled down and instead focused on combat and storylines/cut scenes.
Little dude that sells you legendary items for opal is probably the only shop I've visited in like the 10 or 15 hours of play time. Normal silver is next to useless late game. And it bugs me that the same items are seemingly in each shop, regardless of region. If you're going to split a game up by distinct areas, it would make sense that each area would have unique items and weapons you could purchase.
I'm like 60 hours in and having fun overall. But the gear situation really knocks it down a peg for me. I could have just taken the first set of armor/weapons I got, upgraded them throughout the game, and nearly as powerful as I am now. What's the point of even having gear drops at that point?

Exactly. It’s so frustrating. In Odyssey I could find a flaming legendary sword in a bandit’s chest. Then 2 hours later I found a poison spear. I had so much fun because I ended up playing with every different type of weapon. I haven’t switched my gear in a few weeks because they are all the exact same.

I’m over 70 hours in and getting bored... I’ll complete the game but I won’t touch it again like Odyssey.
The Reda quests are intolerably and lazily constructed unlike at least Odyssey where it varied between hunting soldiers/bandits/ships/politicians/etc. it’s literally the exact same locations doing the exact same thing for five pathetic opals a pop.
The gear “variety” is ass.
Ever since getting mythic Thegn set and Mythic Spears + Mythic Skadis Wrath, there’s no point is changing. Nothing else offers a unique playing experience.
The main quest is meh. The Ivarr scenes were great but everything else seems lackluster.
No real punishment for choices you make outside of fricking Rhandvi.
The “mythic” animal thing for this one sucks. Odyssey at least gave you a set for killing everything.
The shops rarely have anything unique.
The Daughters of Lerion were OP BS unless you cheap out and also tank her with an OP ability but running away from them the entire time to avoid their BS instant teleportation.
The raids are ridiculously boring.ZERO VARIETY!
The settlement is underdeveloped and lacking. Feel they could have offered more variety and game mechanics there.
