Should we wait to fire up a new playthrough after Phantom Liberty releases, or can we start now that 2.0 is out, and slide into PL on release, or is that inadvisable? I can't tell based on the press release type of info I'm currently seeing. If it wasn't 2077, I would assume it would just work, but 2077 makes me more nervous than usual.

Prob new play through I would imagine. New update is dope and feels like new game esp some story parts In beginning. I forgot how dope the opening missions were. The tower mission where shite hits the fan is insane.

I think it's an extension / diversion from the main story and releases tonight. No chance you'll bypass it and I think all gameplay tweaks are already out, so I'd start cranking on new playthrough.

I quit playing like a year ago. I was probably 80% done.
What have they added and is it worth finishing?

FYI I think Cool is considered the shittiest of the attributes. Unless it specifically suits your playthrough.
Of course lol. I don’t want to use my attributes reset so early so I guess I’ll just test it out.
What builds are people looking at for new characters in 2.0?

The word is they balanced everything so any build is feasible now. But Body / Reflex / Tech all tie to the preferred weapon trees and Intelligence ties into netrunning.

My favorite perk is the one that cuts damage to your vehicle by 50% when you hit stuff.

There is a performance dropoff. I'm not sure whether it was 2.0 or Liberty, but the transitions between menu/character screens and the game will absolutely get you killed if you're in the wrong locale. The original game set me to Ultra, which I had to back down to High/custom, and it was fine, before the patch. 5600X/RX580+/64GB/PCIe 4 SSD.
I don't necessarily get why the lag is so pronounced after coming out of what should be a fairly small SSD write (it occurs on autosaves too), but I've learned to wait two seconds before I start moving after a checkpoint. Probably prudent.

That doesn’t sound normal. I would consider doing a clean install of both the game and your graphics driver.

Here’s an article explaining the best time to start the DLC within the story to where it makes the most sense. If you’ve already beaten the game you can skip right to it when you start a new game, but apparently if you haven’t played the game and skip to it at the beginning then you skip over Act 1 of main story. The article states it’s best to start it at act 3 so as not to skip anything and to get a better ending

By jumping into Phantom Liberty at this time, you’ll be far enough in the main game that the new ending, which you can only unlock by beating Phantom Liberty, will actually make sense. That’s because depending on which endings you unlock in Phantom Liberty, there’s a chance the game will end right then and there for you. But by reaching Act 3, you’ll essentially replace the Act 3 missions and endings with Phantom Liberty’s creating a much more satisfying, and complete, story arc for V. Plus, characters from the main game will factor into new Phantom Liberty ending, but their appearances will make much more sense once you reach Act 3 of the main campaign.
Welp, guess I’ll be starting a new playthrough

Eta: I probably have old saves that could work, but I think I’m going to give it a fresh run, anyway…

This game hasn’t been on my radar at all but after reading about the new update and the DLC, I’ve started the anime prequel and plan on starting the game up right after lol

Edgerunners is really, really good. As a general rule, I suggest people play CP2077 first, just to get some background information on the CP world in general (unless they are already familiar with the tabletop), but it’s absolutely not necessary. Nothing in the anime references anything that happens in the game. Just don’t be afraid to google a word or term you dint recognize. Enjoy

Yeesh. CDPR had better patch it quick, or they will lose the goodwill they’ve built up over the last year or so.

Been having fun after diving back into cyberpunk. I did purchase the dlc as well because why the hell not?

While playing a second pass through today, with the new update, I encountered an invincibility glitch. Seems to be pretty common
Its a bit of a chore, but you can fix this. Somehow, it enables a god mode. You can download a save editor and change "god mode" from true to false. This will remove the invincibility. I would recommend copying that save prior to editing it.
I bought the DLC yesterday. Starting a fresh playthrough. Will doo all of the gigs and side jobs along the way.
