Water bugs started spawning when April began, they are very hard to see sometimes especially when the drop off into the water is blocking them from the camera side of the water. You can’t despawn them, you have to catch them or tarantulas won’t spawn.
Leave the coconut trees and catch atlas moths as well. Also take your iron stack home with you now as it can be worth more to sell than atlas moths and giant water bugs. It will take too long to swap moths and bugs for all tarantulas.
Bugs = 2k per
Moths = 3k per
You can usually get around 4k of iron out of an island
You get 2 bug spawns on an island, so if a water bug spawns keep despawning the other bug til you get a tarantula. If both become waterbugs catch em both. Check your coconut trees for atlas moths.
Dig up the entire second level of the island so you don’t have to climb up. If you get the three level just catch water bugs and get the hell off.

I wouldn't unless you really, really want the seasons to match what's going on in your real hemisphere. Cherry blossoms only last for a few more days, so you'd be starting over just to wait a year to see them again.
Also, it's pretty annoying, but I haven't been able to get any cherry DIY recipes. The Bunny Day event has almost completely overridden all of the cherry blossom drops, so I'm not getting any new stuff that I'd actually use.

I wish we could turn off bunny day. So tired of eggs taking up inventory for something I'm never going to craft. I hate digging up and earth egg where I think I'm going to get a fossil

This game is fricking crack. My fiancee bought it a few weeks ago for herself. I set up a house and everything on her island then decided after a week that I was going to buy my own game. Got it Saturday and have been eating it up.
Got an island with oranges and my two villagers are Bam (Deer) and Hazel (Squirrel) and they are both awesome.
I fished all day Saturday and Sunday and also created a few tarantula islands. Needless to say, I've gotten my house and first room expansion paid off and tomorrow I'll have my first additional room.

I just got it yesterday and will have a switch to play it on Thursday.
Are you telling me that if my wife and I want to have our own unique instances that we have to buy a second copy of the game? She couldn't just create an ID on the switch and log into it to play her game and when I play on my user ID it will be my island?

I think you have to buy a new copy, it's been one of the biggest gripes about the game. I ended up having to buy a new switch and game for my wife to play

Well that's absurd. Has Nintendo responded? Sounds like that would be a huge deal in the community. I'm sure they don't really give a shite since people will happily buy an entire fricking second switch to get around it.

Well, they apparently cut back on all the bunny crap when people complained about it. I'm happy they did.

True. That shite was incredibly annoying. But for Nintendo it was an easy fix that doesn't require major change.
