Pretty much everything on the whole network is about some sort of evil -ism. From deadspin to kotaku to jezebel. Every. Damn. One.

It's horrible. It's a massive millennial/hipster douchebag orgy.

Was listening to the giant bombcast a few weeks ago and they were talking to this woman game designer who had made a game that "doesn't judge you".

Sign me up. The world is mean.

That's what I take away from this.

So she is posting on there to get herself attention. That's funny.

I'd like to actually see that thread.

You certainly can get an unprecedented amount of support for a terrible game.

I've only heard about this girl but never knew it was about this... wow. I have to add her to the group with Sarkeesian.

At first I was going to try and argue that Anita wasn't as awful as this person. Although, Anita took money for something and still follow through at a very basic level. Not only did she lie about her time and expenses(and just be factually wrong with many of her videos), she also stole Let's Play footage from youtubers.

I have 2 questions:

1. Would people expect anything less from an emo chick who made a game called "depression quest"

2. Why would anyone ever want to play a game called "depression quest"?

Do want. I weep in to a pillow every time I finish playing Dark Souls or Borderlands. Judgmental bastards....

I mostly agree with you but I thought Anita's Ms. Male Character video was pretty interesting.

I saw your thread about Resogun. I think it's awesome, I just haven't played it a ton. I'll try to get on this weekend at some point and we can try some co-op.

(Sadly, I don't have a mic. Unless you count the one that came with the PS4, which is still in the box, I believe.)

So, is this worth finishing? She's spent 5 minutes referencing promotional materials and developer commentary that were made over 30 years ago. This isn't relevant or interesting.

She starts with Pac-man and Ms Pac-man, which are over 30 years old, and moves chronologically from there.

I thought the video did a pretty good job of showing how many female video game characters are solely defined by the fact that they are female, whereas male characters have a little more substance to their identities. I found it interesting but if you don't, that's cool.

Early in gaming women were a big minority of players. How do you sell a game to a teenage boy, put sexy women in it.

I would argue that all characters in early years were paper thin and one-dimensional. Sometimes, they weren't even that deep. As far as bows and colors used to differentiate female from male characters, I chalk it up to laziness of the developers. I watched a bit more and every example she's using, they're all games with no story or character development.

I just have a hard time taking her seriously whenever her arguments suck complete arse.

I actually downloaded and played DQ yesterday.

That should definitely not be a steam game. Steam has not allowed some very good visual novel games from being put on greenlight yet this shite is on there?

Here is the game:
You get a lot of text to read and 3 or 4 options (the best option is x'd out because you are depressed) this goes on for a long while and then you get an end text screen...but the epilogue is just the credits. Did I kill myself or get better? is my girlfriend hot? Did I ever tell my parents? No answer just credits. This game made me depressed that I wasted 30 minutes playing it so I think that was the point

10/10 -IGN
