We pick up about once a month and I want to know where I can get hamburger steak meal, drink and dessert for $12. Now hamburger steak, two sides and a roll is $15 after taxes. Now a slice of pie or cake is $4 alone. The crawfish etouffee used to be great, not so much anymore. Not sure how the one on Florida Blvd. stays open since never anyone there when I go.

And that’s the problem…. As
With most restaurants…

If it was decent priced, I think more people would go.

But idk…

I go for lunch about once a month. Keep it light with a vegetable plate.

Pickled beets salad
Turnip Greens
Either black eyed peas or cabbage
Carrot soufflé (doubles as vegetable and dessert)
Cornbread

Hamburger steak among other things are frozen. I watched them take it out of a box in front of the whole line at the Juban once a few years ago. Sad state that Piccadilly is in now compared to back in the day.

To my downvoters on the the Piccadilly Buffet idea:

How about a simpler combo setup based on an entree price and unlimited sides and desserts for a flat fee. And instead of self serve, you get the waitress to get you some more carrot soufflé, slice of pie, or pea salad. It would be more like a Poncho’s. You can put American flags on the tables and raise the flag if you need something.

Pretty much the same most every time I went. I'd get the fresh sliced medium rare roast beef, roasted new potatoes, au jus, a steamed vegetable side and rolls with unsweetened tea to drink.

I can't remember the name of one of the cafeteria's I'd sometimes eat at that was located on Jeff Davis Pkwy. near the overpass on I-10 and Washington Ave. It's been closed for many years now.

Chicken fried steak or chopped beef, mash potatoes, green beens, mexican cornbread. I had given up on Piccadily for a while as the Essen location really went to shite during and after Covid. The past 6 months or so it has improved....no where near as good as it was in the 80's, 90's but its decent.
