Tyson. I like mine extra crispy and for some reason it just cooks the best that way without burning.
But I’m not picky. Even cheap arse Bar-S bacon is good bacon.

Wright. Hardwood or Hickory smoked.

Wright
Wright Brand has been my bacon of choice for many years. But due to recommendations by the board, i bought a pack of Conecuh bacon yesterday. We'll see how it stacks up.
I tried to make my own bacon one time, and i failed pretty miserably. I bought a 3 lb. pork belly and the recipe i used called for 6 lbs. I didn't think it would matter. But the bacon was the saltiest thing i ever ate. I thought i could at least use it for salt mean when cooking greens. Nope. It made your tongue hurt it was so salty.
I followed a recipe in a book i have on charcuterie. I'll try again in the future.

Kiolbassa out of San Antonio. They make a damn good chorizo also.

The best bacon I've had from a grocery store is Rouses brand bacon. Yes it is better than Wright because it has more meat than theirs.

Until recently, the thick sliced bacon I'd get from Costco under the Kirkland brand. Meaty, good smoke flavor and fries up nice.
I finally got done with my cold smoker and made homemade bacon out of pork belly----also from Costco----and it came out OK for now, but I see I'll have to tweak my brining recipe a bit to get the flavor I want.

Everyday bacon is Wright's. When I want big in your face bacon, Benton's.

Whoever said Conecuh is good sausage has never had good sausage. It’s greasy and strong. It’s ok grilled but I used it in a jambalaya because I was out of Teets and it gave it a really odd taste. Not a fan.

I buy what is on sale..the usual 2 for $5. I got some Manda that was 2 for $4 and it was ok for breakfast bacon. I got some bacon named Gawltry (sp?) and it was pretty good. Slices didn't shrink to nothing and was meaty.
Wrights is real bacon as far as a "every city grocery carries type bacon". I remember I was able to get Wrights at Sams for $8 for a two pack..Now it is over $14.

Smithfield thick cut cherrywood smoked bacon.
Once I tried Smithfield, I haven’t bought any other brand.
