Mother's, despite the rep from locals, makes a good poorboy.

I’d like to take the time to explain how stupid this is, but I’m full of thanksgiving leftovers and feeling lazy. So let me just say you’re wrong and dumb.

I'm not sure Americans quite understand how wonderful the people of New Orleans have it, at least in terms of cuisine. If you ever see a ranking that has Chicago ahead of New Orleans

I’m just going to say it. New Orleans is overrated when it comes to food. People who live there and/or people who tout its culinary credentials are just engaged in a massive circle jerk.

A 9 year old bump for your first post is pretty impressive

Thank you. I got defriended by many local Chicago and some dates cancelled my when I said same thing that food in chciago sucks. I was thinking am I only one who doesn’t like food here. But thanks I am not alone.

In Chicago I tried Japanese Korean Thai Indian even Mexican sucks here. When I visited sfo and tried same cuisine over there, Chicago kind of lost all respect. SFO food really good .

Hot dogs? Yeah. Even the very best hot dog on earth is still a meh meal.

Deep dish pizza? Eh, it’s a solid change of pace. I don’t want it all the time, but a great deep dish pizza is something truly delicious.

Italian Hot Beef? Absolutely not overrated. If anything, it isn’t hyped enough. One of the best sandwiches that exists.

A "Chicago dog" is no different from a hot dog anywhere else except they take pride in not putting ketchup on it and putting lots of condiments on it. You take pride in this? OK. Hot dogs, like much of Chicago food, suck.

nah, chicago dogs are good.

I might even choose a good Italian beef sandwich over a good roast beef poorboy.

also wrong

Deep dish pizza? Again, another lackluster "contribution" from a city that cares more about catching up to New York's financial prowess than enjoying life. I will make a claim that at face value appears to be a preposterous, but in reality is true, and say New Orleans has better pizza than Chicago. It's true. The fact that a place like Connie's has been popular in the city for over 50 years is proof enough.

1. Chicago Deep dish is good.

2. New Orleans has mediocre
pizza.

2014 post gets bumped in 2023 by poster (bot?) with one total post to date, then another one-post wonder bumps it again in 2024, ten years later.

What is it with these apparently bot bumps? Or are there people deranged enough to create an account to post once about a decade old thread and then go away?

I started reading the OP, immediately thought it might be a TulaneLSU post.

Didn’t see mention of Mother or Uncle, that’s when I looked to see who wrote this drivel.

You’re writing an open letter to the people of Chicago, on an LSU message board?

Great job knowing your target audience.

ETA. Oh shite this is a Bot-Bump. Great job Mods.

Strange to suddenly see stuff I wrote 4,000 years ago. Did I ever tell you guys, King David and I were best buds. I went over to his place in J-Town for Goat BBQ and rock slinging practice all the time. He always had some pretty good wine that I helped him drink. Joy to everyone.

Houston has a great dining scene and is the BBQ capital of the world. Most places are below Houston, Texas so no shame in that. Doesn't Chicago have a BBQ festival each year? I don't think we have an annual deep-dish pizza festival in Houston.

Agree. LA seafood is the pinnacle of all dining experiences. They can seemingly pack a five-course meal into every bite.

This board is completely clueless on the Houston food scene. Like the redneck from Gonzales earlier in the thread who claims Houston is good for tacos and nothing else

Chicago could have the best food in the world and it wouldn't be enough to get me to go there
