I grow asparagus in my garden. If you've never had fresh asparagus, it blows store bought asparagus away....and I really like store bought too.

zucchini
broccoli
Brussels sprouts
I used to eat the hell outta green beans but haven't had any in a few years. Need to go back to those.

- Asparagus (prefer it grilled)
- Zucchini (to make zucchini noodles)
- Broccoli (steamed)
- Peppers (green, yellow, red, jalapeno, serrano)
- Asparagus (on a burger, please)
- Kale (throw in the oven for some chips!)
- Onion (almost in everything I cook)

I don't much care what kind of veggie it is, if you roast it it's going to be pretty tasty. I don't think my parents ever roasted a veggie when I was a kid, so I thought all veggies other than boiled sweet corn was awful. But I'd rank them this way:

1. Sweet Corn fresh from the garden
2. Asparagus
3. Green Beans (as long as you're simmering the hell out of them in bacon fat, shallots and garlic)
4. Broccoli

Shout out to shallots, if they're considered a veggie. I don't really like white/yellow/red onions at all, but I'm obsessed with shallots and put them in everything now.

yeah my Dad grows his own

I just don't have a bed big enough to dedicate the space for such a long crop, but I will next spring when I pull up some hedges to create more garden

In the freezer we always have:

Purple hull peas
Lady peas
Texas cream peas
Pinto Beans
Butter beans
Sliced Okra

At Kroger's we buy fresh

Cabbage for slaw and steamed or sautéed
Corn on the cob to roast
Brussels sprouts to roast
Beets to roast
Broccoli for salad or to steam
Cauliflower for salad, to steam or roast
Green Beans to steam or boil
Carrots to roast, grill or boil
Asparagus to roast, sauté or steam
Spinach for salad and creamed
Turnips and collards in fall/winter season
Rutabaga in fall/winter season
Yellow squash and zucchini to sauté
Okra (whole pods) to fry or boil alone or in peas.
Green Onions as garnish
Bell peppers
Celery
Tomatoes

Always keep Onions, Garlic, Irish, Idaho and sweet potatoes in pantry

Always have dried Great Northern Beans, red kidney beans and blackeyed peas in the pantry. May have lentils for soup if hankering strikes

Always have canned tomatoes, Creamed corn, pork and beans, garbanzo beans, black beans, ranch beans, pinto, great northern and kidney beans in the pantry.

Everything I have listed is a favorite.

Must have corn bread with veggies anything else is optional.

That's about it.
