I've actually tasted it because I'm curious and stupid. Tastes like a really bland chili or maybe even a little bean dip-like from what I can remember. Not unpleasant, and if you hadn't seen the can it came out of, you'd just think it was a low grade canned chili/potted meat/mystery meat product. Which it is.

I'm pretty sure I've bought straight Castleberry's here. I know that Austex is here, and it's the same thing.

You know they are still just beef hot dogs? Not like they are grinding Angus tenderloins for hot dogs.
And FWIW Angus is the most common beef cattle in the U.S. And they tend to have a good bit of genetic disorders.

I grew up on Hormel no beans but I've started using this brand with Nathan's hot dogs and it's my go to now.

Either leftover chili pulsed in processor a second or i brown a small amount of ground chuck with onions, chili powder, hot sauce, and couple cans of castleburys sauce. I steam dem buns too boy!

Dubuque used to make a chili stick like that. It was my favorite as a kid. I used to get it on hot dogs at the Schwegmanns in Gentilly.
