Pretty sure the second ingredient is crack because I cannot stay away from it

As much as I appreciate the popularity of their chicken salad, I just don’t get the draw. I don’t see what’s magical about it.

It’s insane how good that stuff is.
Toast a piece of seeduction bread from Whole Foods and put some Calvin’s chicken salad on it with some grapes on the side?
Outstanding.

Wish I could find it here, but the Wal-Mart chicken salad isn't bad when I've got nothing else.

This. Oak Point (in Watson) smoked chicken salad is 5 million times better.

I usually make a “Sonoma” style chicken salad with grapes, pecans, etc. But Calvin’s is super smooth with a great flavor and is just how my grandmother used to make.
Edit - how the frick is this getting downvotes? Sorry Calvin fricked your moms and then she made him a chicken salad sandwich

It makes for the perfect lunch or late night snack.
I now need to find a place in my area that has good chicken salad.

Well, to answer your question, first you have to discuss the life cycle of a whole chicken.
So, the butcher buys a whole chicken with the hope that it would sell before the expiration date.
When the whole chicken has reached it sell by date, they pull it and season and roast it, thereby getting a few more days out of it.
If the roasted chicken doesn't sell, well they then make chicken salad out of it and get a few more days to sell it.
It really is a brilliant ponzi scheme and you have to tip you hat to the butcher.

Actually, Calvin’s goes through more bone in chicken breasts for their chicken salad then they can ever sell in the meat counter. It’s amazing how much they sell. I believe they even get rebates from the mayonnaise company because they purchase so much.

Count me in the crowd that thought it was good but nothing special. When we lived in BR for a couple years and the Ralph’s on Jones Creek was open I loved theirs.

I think it tastes pretty good, but I can't handle the texture. Reminds me of paste, but without the minty flavor.

Fruit of any kind in chicken salad is an abomination.

Get it all the time. But really prefer a less rich chunky style.

Calvin’s is the goat.
I add A little celery for crunch. Sometimes hot sauce or mustard for the vinegar to help cut the richness.
Sometimes I make a white man’s taco. Which is chicken salad in a folded piece of white bread with celery on top.

I’m not a chicken salad fan except for Calvin’s. It’s addictive and outstanding. I’ve come close, but it’s missing something that makes it what it is.

Both are damn good but Murrays is hit or miss with consistency. Sometimes you get straight shredded chicken and have to add mayo... and I never am one to add mayo to anything
