I'd scape that nasty arse cottage cheese off, clean out the pear with my T shirt, and eat the pear...that's what I'd do.

I would have too, if I would have been able to do it without Granny knocking me out of my chair!

Yep, my mom did it with mayo. It was better than the putty out of the windows, so I ate it.

Yep. Grew up on that refreshing little salad.

I wonder if that recipe came out of Southern Living or Talk About Good.....

Very few things go well with it, but for some reason, cold pear halves and some shredded cheese do.

I never understood brussel sprouts, but thats a different thread.

Only difference is that recipe' calls for this hot mess to be served on top of lettuce. My grandmother used to serve it now and then instead of a salad.

Cottage cheese

My mom and her sisters used to make a chip dip out of cottage cheese and worcester sauce. There might have been other ingredients. It was very good!

Yep, the pear would sit on a single piece of iceberg. That's how we'd get it.

That's how my grandmother used to make them. I hate to say it, but they're not the worst thing I ever ate.

The saltiness and texture of the cheese somehow ties in all the other horrible ingredients. I know that makes no sense if you've never had it, but it's true.

This... it really makes no sence, but on a hot day during the summer this was golden.

as well, and used pineapple instead of pears with a leaf of iceberg lettuce on the bottom, does not sound good, but the flavors and textures come together nicely for me, as a matter of fact had some this weekend
