No, I'm really not.
Note that I didn't say you can't fine excellent pizza in NY, because you absolutely can. I'm just saying that the most prevalent pizza here is pretty mediocre in general.
I can stop in almost anywhere in the city and get a slice that's on par with or better than Pizza Delicious.
Pizza D is fantastic, for New Orleans. It's an average slice in NY.

I have always enjoyed New York Pizza on Magazine Street in uptown New Orleans. I knew the owner way back when they were still in the little shop on the corner of Dufossat.
Tower of Pizza for straight-ahead, classic American pizza parlor pizza and experience.
I love Moe's in Westwego, but their sauce is either love-it-or-hate-it.
Venezia is wonderful old New Orleans.
Family loves Theo's, I'm satisfied with it, but that's about it.
Happy Italian Pizzeria in Harahan. They are really good, a favorite.

I'm a big fan of G's Pizza, specifically their thin crust. There are two locations in New Orleans. I go to the one on Bienville in Mid City.
My wife can't eat dairy or gluten and they have good options for her. For me, I find they use really good ingredients, especially the cheese. We'll often order a 10 inch for her and a 10 inch for me since we don't eat the same thing.

Deanos in Lafayette used to be the shite, I would get half Shrimp ala Deanos and half Marie Laveaux. Last time we went there it was meh
This is how I feel. First few times I ate it I thought it was delicious. I don’t know if they changed or I just don’t care for it anymore but I probably won’t eat there again.

I need to try this eventually.
I really need to try Molly's Rise and Shine's pan pizzas. They look amazing to me.

How can anybody downvote Tower of Pizza?
Must be the same guys that like pineapple on their pizza!

Another great place is Nola Mia. They actually have a food truck also that has come to Prairieville a couple of times recently. Good stuff.
I'm pretty sure there is no brick and mortar restaurant, just their food truck. But it is fantastic. Easily the best pizza on the northshore. They usually spend about half the week in the Ponchatoula area and venture outwards on the other days.

Haven’t been to Venezias in a while.
Loved their veal cutlet pizza!
I’ve taken my kids to Theo’s, I like it, but they like Tower hands down.
I also like the brick oven pizzas, but that’s a different animal...
Ancora on Freret St. uptown

Johnny’s north Louisiana locations
I've been enough times to know it's better than pizza hut but it's still chain pizza. Nothing special about it.
It can't touch Pizza Shack or Pizza Village in Opelousas and Lafayette.

Yeah pizza village is not good.
Pizza shack is hard to beat if you like the thin cracker style crust. Their sauce is great also.

For NY style I enjoy NY Pizza and Pasta on Coursey in Baton Rouge. To me it's the closest to NY Style I've had in Louisiana. I recommend it. That's Amore the Metaire location is also good if you want Chicago style.
NY Pizza and Pasta.

There is a Nola Mia brick and mortar in New Orleans, along St Claude.
I have no idea if these two are associated, but the pizzas look similar.

It's 2021, so, easily three years ago. It's been a while, and it had been a while in between previous visits, as well. I remember going to the N. Carrollton location when Wayne opened that one. Two locations, though, was too much.
