I also picked up another brand at Martin’s called The Cocktail Experiment that is made by Olive or Twist in BR.

I got that one too, but only used the bitter milk last night. I suppose there’s only one thing to do: try The Cocktail Experiment tonight

Just went to Acquistapace’s in Mandeville. They didn’t have it either.

Yes, I’ve been thinking the same thing for a few months!

Is it because Covid has slowed shipping from overseas?

The shelves are getting barren, and even their special case has barely any bottles in it anymore.

Haven’t really seen anything new on the shelves in some time.

Rouses and Martins don't seem to be having near the same problem. Gulf Coast has some good stuff too.

Wild. I saw some came out last week and it looked like it was by Bayou Terrebonne Distillers. It was called LA1 last batch, but that shite sold out quick.

I passed back by Rouses where I saw a LA1 and it is the last batch one of anyone wants it. In YV

To me that bottle is overpriced by $30. It’s a hot pour with no personality. Not sure what their marketing reps were thinking pricing it so high but I just don’t like it at all. When I first heard about it I was very interested in getting a bottle since it was local. Fortunately I was able to taste a pour before purchasing. Needless to say I’ve left it on the shelf every time I see it.

Edited to add that I did not taste the Last Batch so maybe I may be off. But the original was so bad that I have no interest in this one.

Their 1792 full proof pick is quite good. Great prices on wine too

1pd - a fresh bottle of TA Saz. That first cork pop on a new bottle is a wonderful sound, and then the glug glug glug of the bourbon making its way down that long neck of the Saz bottle. Happy Saturday!

I agree that the original was bad. I worked with Donner and he always talked up their products and for the most part they were all subpar.

Yeah, they usually can’t be beat on their prices. Most of their scotch is $20-$30 lower than acquistapace’s. So while they don’t have a big scotch selection, I always buy it from them if they have it.

I buy the wife Chardonnay from them by the case every month. They are about $1-$2 lower on that than Rouses or any place I’ve seen.

I stopped in there about a year ago to check them out and felt their selection was very small. Seems like they are more focused on wine and beer. Could also have been covid causing shipment difficulties at that time.

I’ll stop in again soon and give them another shot
