A wee bit of the Scottish weather on the Texas prairie this fine eve.

Congratulations, we have 3. Enjoy the last little bit of silence you will have for a while.

How you like the Peated Balcones? I bought same bottle a couple weeks ago. Kinda digging it. A little high on price but it’s got some unique flavors to it.

Finishing the night with EHT small batch.

It was a little high on price, but I love it. I'd compare the price point more to a cask strength scotch of the same price than I would a bourbon. If you look at it that way, it's reasonable. I love the original Balcones Cask Strength Single Malt and a nice smoky scotch, so i may be a bit biased. Takes all the good from both bourbon and scotch and combines them into something that tastes like a peat/hickory/mesquite smoked pecan pie with brisket and pork belly on top. Couldn't recommend this enough.

Have you ever had the Balcones Baby Blue?
Posted on 4/16/21 at 2:01 pm to Baers Foot
Yeah I did. Its definitely not the same profile as the single malt or the peated. Balcones is doing great things. Hoping to make a trip out there soon. I'd love to check out more of their stuff.

I agree I really like their stuff. I have a Bourbon Fest Pick Single Malt, just got that same Peated bottle you have. Also have a Baby Blue, Rumble, Rye and a Brimstone.

I’m pretty sure someone on here recently mentioned the 15yr Dickel. It’s a Martin’s Barrel Pick and oh man is it good. I had a sample at the Metairie location and was extremely impressed. I didn’t go back and search to see who recommended it but they were spot on. If you are close by Martin’s, do yourself a solid and go try this. I’d be willing to bet if you try it, you buying it. It’s that good. Also got the FAE as a kicker. I’m about to toss a coin to see which one I open first but they both will be open this evening for sure.

1PD Fresh crack. First time having this let's see what the hype is about.

Prepare to be underwhelmed. Lol. Nah it’s decent. Or I should say it’s decent as long as you stayed in the MSRP range.

It was MSRP. Yeah I'd feel cheated if I paid let's say $60.
