Need some opinions:

We are waiting on an answers on a Russell's barrel.

We were offered a barrel of whistlepig 10 or 12. We were also offered a 1792 Full Proof.

I don't want to get stuck with an expensive whistlepig barrel.

The full proof is interesting. I also requested an Elijah barrel.

Defintiley in on 1792. Would get Russell's and EC as well. If you needed someone to buy a WP bottle, I'd happily do it for you. But I could live without it.

Also, FPD is Maker's 46 and good evening downvoter

I’d go with the 1792 FP. Real solid bourbon.

What’s you folks choice on ice molds? I have been using a fairly cheap rubber mold, but it is inconsistent on ice with/without cracks.

Does anyone have a sure fire favorite mold?

Edit to add 1pd

Wintersmith.

You still have to let the ice sit a couple minutes to prevent cracking when you pour.

I bought a couple rubber molds off Amazon that work pretty well.

If you want clear ice, you really need to get the cooler style molds

I don’t use ice as much anymore. Been drinking neat. But my kids got me the silicone molds from Amazon 1-2 years ago. They work well. I fill them half way for smaller cubes.

If buying a barrel, I would assume it's a true barrel proof rather than just full proof?

Still full proof, from what I've ever seen.

Just saw this thread for the first time today. I've never bought a small batch, single barrel etc before last week when I picked this up. Haven't opened it yet but will this Friday afternoon as I watch GT in March Madness. Makers is my go to drink and hope the extra cost is worth it.
