Blanton’s was $99.99
I just left the little corner gas station by my house. ER and EHT on the shelf and the Glazers truck was there dropping off more.

I grabbed a Sagamore Rye double oak on your suggestion.
I havent had a rye like this. Very good and interesting.
I get brown sugar on nose but cigar on the pallette.

The rye was my first jump into this. The small batch is meh.

10 year rye is my holy grail though

I really enjoy 10yr McKenna. Very solid. Good choice.

I’ve had some McKenna 10s that were some of the best bourbons I’ve had, and I’ve had some that were more mediocre. There’s definitely a range, but the good ones punch way above their weight class imo.

I’m more on the novice side of bourbon, but learning. I must have gotten a good batch on the McKenna because it was delicious

I wanted to catch you on your way back from the restroom. Must’ve taken the bar detour

I did the JD 10, 12 & 14 then did the duck camp 110 proof, pinhook collaborative and preservation. Finished off with a 1.5 of old forester barrel proof rye. The tanyard hill is gone pecan, that’s usually my dessert.

That’s interesting. It may need to open up. On the two bottles I had, I get sweet oak, vanilla bomb and rye finish. Definitely a bourbon drinkers rye.

I get a lot of herbal notes, some dark brown sugar, and barrel char.

I’ve heard people describe it as a bourbon drinkers rye, but it resembles a highly aged rye than any sort of bourbon, IMO. I agree that it doesn’t necessarily have much in common with a standard low age rye though.
