Everyone has different tastes, and I acknowledge mine are a little immature. Me and a buddy typically go through 1/4 ounce tastings of 8-10 every other weekend or so for the last 3 or 4 months or so.
As a reference, my top 3 so far are:

Angels envy is just not good whiskey. I have a cask strength that I only bought because it was offered $100 below srp, still not close to worth what I paid.
Same with Widow Jane, never had one actually worth the price and the 15 yr might be the most overpriced bottle on the market

I’m not a big of fan of it as most whiskey enthusiasts, but it’s not bad whiskey. Are you just not used to drinking barrel proof whiskey?
