Happy to find the latest SB 12 batch 27. Here's a pour of a prior batch.

Great get! I hit the PS about every three months, trying to make it down before the end of the month. Always come back with at least one great bottle.

How much did you pay? I hear they aren’t as good as they used to be.

Paid $599. Best I can tell based on barrel number it is supposed to be their Experemental Wheated Mash, but not sure, just my best guess looking at online resources. Also the low proof indicates it was likely on a lower floor. I enjoyed it, but like any of the bottles in this price range is it worth it probably not to be honest. It is a very unique experience from others bourbons I’ve had.I would say it’s real sweet and soft up front but then it explodes with all the baking spices and finishes on cinnamon red hots in a good way.

Haven’t seen or heard anything about the annual Calandro’s raffle. Can’t find anything online. Not happening?

Talked to a guy in there the other day. No raffle this month. Maybe in Feb. He said he’s just not getting much in the way of allocations and can’t predict what will come in any time soon.

They are now Willett distillate, the older purple tops came from various sources.

I for one really enjoy the profile of Willett distillate, but they are single barrels, so they will vary.

The allocation shite makes me laugh. These distillers are still trying to create artificial scarcity even though they are sitting on huge amounts of inventory and the market is down. Good luck with that.

I think it is one of the main reasons BT built a refrigerated Rick house. Eagle Rare 25 coming to you soon at an MSRP of $7,200.

Yea I think a lot of the liquor guys at stores have some pretty significant stashes of allocated stuff. Only the special customers have access to.

I'm not working that hard to develop a relationship with some random 50yr old guy for a bottle of bourbon.

Prices were all over the place at different stops in KY. Some retailers have decided to quit playingnthe game on certain bottles. I got a 11year 4 Roses OBSO and OBSQ at one store they were charging $80 a bottle. Yet on their Old Forster Small 117 series of Extra Aged 1910 they charged $99. I just bought one a month ago for $60 down the street from them. They also had the new Small Batch Willet Purple top for $150. They had one left and some old timer damn near knocked me down to get it. MSRP is $69 it’s like 4 or 5 years old,
