Yep, unlike bourbon scotch loses proof as it ages. Also I tend to add more water to scotch than I would bourbon or Irish whikseys.

This looks like it would help me. I enjoy bourbon but have wanted to give scotch a fair shot. Going to check this out.

Hey Epic.. well our local dirty hippy commie is trying to convince us to drink scotch.

The only scotch I’ve tried that I liked was Glenmo Signet, and I think it’s like $300 a bottle. Maybe I’m a proof whore but I can’t justify $300 for a 90 proof bottle

Scotch drinker for 40 years, switched to bourbon 4 years ago. Wanted something with peat to have an occasional taste. This fits well for me, surprisingly sweet fruit and floral on the nose, then tropical fruit on the palate, then peat, wood, sweetness on the finish. This great if you want an occasional peated flavor note. Cheers !

Try Angel's Envy Peated. I picked up a bottle at the distillery last month when we were there and the smoke is strong with that one. Too much for me.

Thanks for the recommendation, had not heard they had a peated, I’ll look for it. Liberty Pole Distillery is offering a peated rye I’m picking up next week.

High West has a peated barrel finished rye as well that has a hint of peat but it's not overwhelming.
