Rare Breed gets all the hype, but I prefer Russell’s SiB.

Evening baws
FPD is a fresh crack, solid pour but definitely shows it’s youth compared to the 12 year MGP ryes I’ve been drinking lately.
Nose: citrus (leaning orange), mint, buttery and sweet
Palate: anise, citrus (leaning lemon), good viscosity
Paid $100 including shipping and I’m not mad at that price

Howdy men. It's been a minute.
Election Day is this Saturday. Win or lose, I'm ready for it to be over and get a little more time back.
F&OPD is a bottle kill.

Anyone here like/recommend Barrell Bourbon? I see it on the self but have never picked it up?
Which to you recommend trying first?
Batch 36, Dovetail, or Seagrass

A couple things.
They blend using Indiana (MGP), Tennessee (Dickel), and Kentucky (I believe they use several different distilleries in Kentucky), this is for their base numbered batches. If you are completely offput by Dickel, I wouldn't recommend it, but I am not and I find that I enjoy some of their numbered batches.
Seagrass is a completely different animal. It's American and Canadian rye finished in Martinique Rhum, Madeira & apricot brandy barrels. IMO, it's a great Summertime, warm weather sipper. Super fruity, it's basically a cocktail in a bottle, but it's also like ~120 proof.
I have less experience with Dovetail, but from my recollection it was really sweet, and drank hot.
ETA: some of their single barrels are really good. I've come across 1 that was an 8 year Willett single barrel. Which would go for $300+ msrp was was only $90 because it was under the Barrell label. Obviously not all of their Kentucky SiB are Willett, but there is a chance.

I’ve never had a bad bottle of barrell. Probably my favorite bottle I’ve ever owned (of any type of bourbon) was a 14yr store pick bottle of barrell. The 15yr gray label someone gifted me was excellent as well.
I’ve not had the seagrass, dovetail, or batch 36, but I enjoy the vantage.
