Thanks for the info guys. I sort of thought the same thing some of you said, but wanted to verify. I should've got a bottle of the Elmer T Lee but he had at least 4, so I should still be able to snag one if I pass by there again. It was in Sugar Land, TX, by the way, in case anyone in the area wanted to stop by. Small place but decent selection compared to some. Just happened to pass by on my way home from a meeting on a route I don't have to travel too often.

And don't get me wrong, I still love Scotch, but the selection, price, and availability of good Bourbon has definitely had me on the Bourbon train the last few months. Haven't had a Scotch in a little while.

NOLAGT, I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to grabbing it for you, but it's a little bit away from the house and I live in TX.

I have had both the 14yr martins dickel and the 9 from Alexanders. While they are both very good...I think I like the 14 better...has more flavor to me.

I will gladly pay shipping from TX if you dont mind shipping, its pretty easy...if you end up going back I would be able to pay pal you the funds (if you have that). I would also be willing to send you a jps 18 and some $ or JPS18 and something else to trade for it if you would rather do it that way.

I'm fairly certain this brand of scotch has been brought up in the past 200+ pages of this thread, but i'm going to throw it out there because i really enjoy it:

in case you can't make out the brand it's called "The Dimple Pinch".

my parents have a bottle of that sitting at the house that i'm pretty sure they've had since about 1982. They aren't much of drinkers though. I may take it from them next time I'm that way.

Did it all exactly the same and didn't get a kickback this time, so you should have mail.

I had one...went to get one more for Christmas.

Much different than last year's 131 proof...this one seems to be more of a well-balanced simpler batch.

Although the title to this thread says Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch appreciation.......

There aint been much Scotch appreciation in quite a while. I got ya back though.

I like Dimple Pinch for a blended scotch. If I'm drinking blended, it might be Dimple Pinch but usually is Johnny Walker. If you like that, try the JW Black. Avoid the JW Red. If you really want to try a good blended Scotch, try the JW Gold. That is really nice but starts to get a little pricey.

Johnny Walker Blue Label is one of the "Gold Standards" for Scotch. It is a blend of single malt scotches that varies from year to year.

I recently tried the Dewars 12 Year. I was not expecting much but I was surprised by how drinkable it was. Anyway, it went down easy that night.

CHEERS!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

For the grill masters of this thread. I was given a honey baked ham from a client today and I wanted to hear your thought about what to do with this thing? I am not a huge fan of ham so I had the idea of wrapping it in foil and putting it on the smoker for a bit to give it some flavor. I know it is already cooked and you would normally just heat it in an oven.

If you wrap it in foil it will not get any additional flavor.

Ive smoked cooked spiral hams on my egg a few times. Like you said, its already cooked so your just warming it up. If its already spiral cut smoke it face down or it will dry out when the cut sections seperate. I do it around 300 for an hour or so. Dont wrap it
