As of last week, they still had Parkers POH at Dorignacs. It was $99 I think.

I don't normally get a chance to have a couple drinks mid week but tonight I do. Starting off with ECBP.

Nice. I'm jealous. My dinner was Wendy's in between a trip to Satan's butthole (wal-mart), and bathing the 3 year old.
Oh well, next up was Son of Bourye.

Gentlemen, unbeknownst to you, you have managed to convert a scotch guy to bourbon. I stopped into a few places tonight on my way home and found a place who had a few bottles I have read about on here but have never had myself. I wasn't sure if his prices were on point or just how rare any of them are, so I figured I would ask the experts. What is the typical price range and/or availability of the following if you don't mind helping me out?
Parker's Heritage
Elmer T Lee
JPS 17
Wild Turkey 15 American select
And he had one bottle of pappy 23 left but it was 450.00 which I knew was too much. At least too much for me.
For the above they were 100, 34, 170, and 90 I believe. Posting from phone so sorry if any screw ups.

I don't think I can find Elmer T Lee anywhere over here anymore. I want that one.
But I'm no expert

If the PH is the Promise of Hope, the price is a bit high as you can usually find it from $80-$90, but not too far off. Not very readily available, but not terribly hard to find yet. Reportedly, this may be the last PH bottling which may make it harder to find.
ETL is a tad high, but most places are charging at least $30 when it's available now. It used to be closer to the $25 mark, but it's getting a bit harder to find.
JPS 17 is not readily available anymore. When it first came out, it was around $90, but it quickly went up after people found out it was Stitzel-Weller juice. $170 is probably a fair price now at retail.
Skip on the WT15
Let me know where these guys are so I can give them a piece of my mind for that Pappy!

Welcome to the dark side
Those prices aren't far off from normal...
The lowest I've seen the Parker's for $90, but $100 is still fair...
Elmer T Lee is tough to find in most areas (Nola included), normally goes for around $30...I'd still buy for $34
The JPS 17 is the wild card...most places don't have JPS 18 around, much less the 17. You're paying for exclusivity here...$170 is a little steep (I found an 18 for $125 earlier this year), but for one of the better bourbons you'll ever drink, it might be worth a splurge.
Can't help with the Turkey, hadnt tried it yet.
And the Pappy 23 has been sold for much more than $450, but I agree, still tough to pull the trigger on that much for a bottle.
ETA: Beardface and I are on the same page it seems...

Went back to Manship tonight. Made it into a BTAC night. So had the Eagle Rare 17 year, William Larue Weller and George T. Stagg; all 2013 release.
Already did the WLW review
ER17: This one is a lightweight compared to the WLW and the GTS. Nose has some nice vanilla and cherry notes with a little oak and pepper. Taste is fairly complex with sweet caramel and vanilla notes initially then get the older oak flavors and just a bit of pepper. Finish is good and long with the sweet notes hanging on the longest. Easily the easiest to drink of the non ryes in the BTAC.
GTS: A bit more subdued than previous GTS bottlings. Nose has some caramel notes with mild floral notes as well as some notes of cinnamon and banana. Taste has the sweet notes up front with the caramel and banana, but transitions into peppery taste and tobacco. Finish has a lot of the sweet notes, but also has a bit of corn and spice, moderate length.
When I got home, I tried my bottle of Bastille 1789. Overall, it's a light and very easy to drink whiskey. Nose is very fruity with pear/apple notes, citrus notes and some burnt sugar. Taste is very silky and light with the pear notes and sugar notes upfront, but catch some of those citrus notes on the backside. Finish is short, but still sweet with mild citrus. Not terribly complex and almost no spice to speak of, but an enjoyable sipper nonetheless.

Parker's Heritage - $85-$95
Elmer T Lee - $30-$35
JPS 17 - $85-$90
Wild Turkey 15 American select - not really sure?
The highlight of that group by a landslide is jps 17. Its is highly sought after SW juice. It holds a secondary price of $200 a bottle all day.

With that said welcome to the bourbon world. I have only had a few scotches but just haven't been able to get into them.

Any of you had this Dickel? I've got the regualr barrel select, but not sure it is worth the price for this.
Posted on 12/18/13 at 8:08 am to Kingwood Tiger
I'd have a hard time paying that for Dickel. I had the 9 yr barrel select and it's very good.
