I think my hard work paid off, I have been told by a store there will be a ER 17 and stagg with my name on them later this week. Nothing in hand yet but its the same store I have gotten all my 4 roses stuff from.

nice! im being told by 2 different sources that I should at least get a few bottles of something with my name on it. Not specific enough for me to get my hopes up yet though. When they tell me what bottles im getting i'll feel better

Well, if it makes you feel better I dont like it enough for the price tag to buy another bottle. It is tolerable now and I realized i have been drinking too much daily of my more expensive stuff. Once doing so though it is hard to go back to Woodford which was my daily before

Now that I have been drinking alot of different things I can make a more informed decision on a cheap daily. I agree with Eagle Rare, my other would be Jeffersons

For those who have tried mixing weller 12 & 107, is there any truth to this quote?

quote:

There isn't really much quality wheated offerings out there that are available consistently. Your best bet is Weller Antique 107 or W.L.Weller 12 yr. Might I suggest blending those two Weller juices 60%/40%, 107/12 respectively. Use an old empty bottle (rinse it out with water first), and let the blend sit for at least 2 weeks before giving it a fair shake. What you'll get is a profile eerily similar to Pappy 15. I did a 1:1 comparison of this blend and pappy 15 once, and I honestly mixed up which glass was which and couldn't decipher the difference. I did eventually settle on one glass that tasted as if it was just a smidge more mature with a bit more oak spice influence as being pappy 15, but they tasted like the same juice.

Not the first time I've heard that regarding Weller and Pappy being the same juice

It would only apply to newer Pappy though. Obviously the old SW Pappy couldnt have been BT Weller
