Picked this up yesterday from a friends suggestion. I normally don't care for scotch very much but he said this is different, "French Whiskey". Anyone ever try it?

Tastes like liquid bananas foster

Last pour: new Pinhook release.
Drinking a Kentucky Mule w/ Maker's. Too hot for anything else.

What yall know about pinhook bourbon? Got offered a bottle today but passed

It's LDI juice aged in Kentucky. The blue wax is 8 years, red wax is 6 years. 75% corn, 20% rye and 5% barley. Each release will have some extra age on it. Only 85 bottle for the state, so it's pretty limited.

This is the Booker's I was talking about earlier today.

That VC looks tasty! Care to list your mix?

Rittenhouse, some Cognac I can't pronounce, Atxa Vermouth, Bendictine, Peychaud's, Angostura and a Luxardo cherry. Pretty traditional recipe.
Vieux Carre, one of my favorite cocktails.

wtf is this shite Jim Beam Kentucky Dram is made by blending the standard Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey with a “touch” of peated Highland Scotch, adding a “smoky flavour” to the “vanilla and oaky notes” of the Bourbon.

Sounds like oil and water to me.

Right now we are just trying to see who would be interested in meeting up for tastings and drinking events.

I'm in.

this is all it is... i wouldn't trade any of the BTACS except maybe a THH for a cured oak at this point. im sure the cured oak is good but i find it hard to believe its anywhere near Stagg, ER17, etc etc

I tried it and agree with this. It's really good and worth $70-80 IMO.

Strawberry basil julep for the lady. Regular for me.

Do yall use bitters for your juleps? I've seen some recipes with it and some without. Guess I'll do a side by side?

Fee Brothers also make Cardamom Bitters that put a nice twist on a Julep.
First Julep of the season. I need a koozie for that damn cup

How's the new job?

It's pretty good so far. Wish we had more bourbons :violin:

How is the JPS rye? Should have hoarded more when I had the chance.

No Tin Fiddy in BR yet :banghead:

I've been thinking of venturing into the scotch world myself.. What's the top 3 starter scotches yall would recommend? So far I've really liked McAllen 12 and glenfiddich 12.

I like Dalmore alot. The 12yr is solid but the cigar malt is amazing. Obviously goes well with cigars.

How does EHT distribute? Can it be had pretty much year round? Im running low on my BP and want to get another, only finding small and single though.

Calandro's on Perkins and Bin Q have some. $60ish at Calandro's, not sure about Bin Q.
First pour: a little Calandro's Four Roses
