Do you still want to swap 4 roses single barrel 2013 for your small batch 2013?

I only have one right now but I'm hoping some more come through. If I get another I wouldn't mind trading it for the single barrel because I never had it.

First pour of the day.

Good stuff, but why do I feel like I am drinking scotch and not bourbon?

No idea, but I really like the single barrel. In fact, I really like the whole EH Taylor line. My first pour of the day was the EH Taylor barrel proof.

This! I haven't had the BP but I'm sure it's great. I had some of there rye last night.

They probably push the AE because the more they sell the more they can probably get and have availabil to them.

Of course I think the EH Taylor line tastes great, but I think they might be the best smelling bourbons I've ever had. I need to give the rye a chance soon. The rye and the old fashioned sour mash are the 2 I haven't had.

Question for the board (maybe this should be its own thread),

How did you come to start drinking/enjoying bourbon?

My first recollection was JD and coke at a wedding when I was a teenager, thought it was disgusting. Then during grad school my PhD advisor kept a bottle of Blanton's in his office. One day when one of our grants became funded he poured us each a glass, wow, my eyes were open. From then on I slowly began building a taste for it. Now every time I run into him at a national meeting he asks me if I have "graduated to Stagg yet". I am just now realizing how difficult that apparently is.

stagg and easy to find dont belong in the same sentence. There were a higher number of stagg bottles bottled this year but still extremely hard to find in the wild.So far only 6 bottles were in the wild areound me. I am waiting on 3 of 4 others places that might get some.

For the longest time I was a crown guy. Crown n 7 or coke...then moved to crown and water. Then a good friend of mine gave me some makers 46 and I really enjoyed it. That led to just randomly try different stuff from the store...and then now im addicted lol

haha, i never said it would be easy. but it probably will be the easiest to acquire this year considering the abnormally low numbers released of the others
