1PD Glenlivet 15, really good stuff. Like the change of pace...it's no bourbon though

Unc, what so you think of that Backwoods Bastard? We found a couple 4 packs tonight. Was planning on drinking one and giving the other away for the December outing.

I didn't run across any BB, unfortunately... Really looking forward to that narwhal bourbon barrel though.

Not that my opinion on beer means any more than Unc's but I've had BB ('14,'15). The base beer is sweet and malty so it pairs well with the barrel aging process. I like BB more with some age on it so I held a few from last year. Higher Abv this year but not really noticeable. Great beer for sipping on a cold night while sitting by a fire.

Yeah I'm sipping on it now. Huge huge fan. We are sipping on it now. Holy hell it is delicious. Very sweet and thick and hearty. Fortunately I got two 4 packs tonight, the second will go to our December outing at the cove!

Does anyone have the scoop on this one? My Pappy lady just pulled it from behind the counter. I'm not paying Pappy price for something I've never heard of.

Ichiro: Never heard of it.

Laphroaig: I don't know these particular ones individually but all Laphroaig's are Islay scotches and can be off-putting to many.

I have the Laphroaig Cask Strength. I don't know what the Batch/Year is on it. I google search it the Batch 3 2011 and it came back with $140. There are much better scotches out there for $140. If you have that kind of money to spend and like Islay, the Laphroaig 18 is better than the one cask strength I have.

I haven't seen the Cairdeas Portwood.

I wound up trading for the port wood one. From the quick looking around it seemed to be liked. I sent a WFE 11yr that I had a bunch of that was meh to me so 1:1 im good. I enjoyed the Lag16 that I had...very different but good. So I was looking for another Islay to try.

NOLAGT trading bourbon for scotch. I think that is the second to last stage in his conversion. Conversion 85% complete.

That's the last batch of the barrel proof correct? Anyone know if they new batch has been released yet

Picked up another EC18, assuming you felt it was worth the price then, hope to be opening mine after a big win this weekend
