I'd enjoy that. Let me know. I mostly stick to the beer threads, but I enjoy venturing over here when we have a release because some funny posting generally happens. Laughs are good. And y'all seem like fun baws.
yessssir. We're really good guys contrary to what some beer guys think. If it wasn't for the "hoarders" here, I would have zero bourbon connections or rare bottles.

No reason to save it. I know... it isn't single malt scotch but it's good enough.

Ehhhhhhh. People get mad about rare. I don't really chase rare (too hard!), I just like to drink with good company. So the beer guys are great because it's my first love, but if you baws are in town and want to shoot the shite, I'll show up and have a few.

I don't think anyone thinks anyone is an actively bad person, I just think people get a little butthurt over not getting what they want. I'd wax poetic more about why the "rivalry" is stupid, but it's not the time or place. Let's just sip a neat one, wash it down with a pint or 10 oz. pour, and make merry.

I was at my local store the other day and he had a box from George Dickel with three single barrel samples. I got to sample the three and pick a barrel for his store. This was his first chance to buy a single barrel from Dickel and have it bottled for his store.
I was really surprised at how much different the three samples tasted.

A nightcap. Since y'all have entertained me tonight, it's not a beer (but not a bourbon either):

sometimes I like a cube to open it up, that may be taboo, but I won't turn you away.

regardless, I really like this one. It's really rich and choclatey. Very different from most of the white dogs (it's not a true dog) I've tasted.

I really didn't care for it when I tried it at the distillery.

Welcome yeezy

You can probably find that Bourye at the new Martin's on Baronne...Elio's might have it too...

Also keep a look out for the Smooth Ambler Old Scout Rye...it's kind of a crowd favorite around here...

1PD to come...

Is it weird that I like JW Blue? I got a bottle for graduation several years ago. I think it's delicious. I know there is much better stuff out there and I'm also not a scotch guy but I still like it. I probably wouldn't pay the price for it though, I feel like you could get some sweet single malts for that price. I dunno.

Interesting. When I was there, I thought White > 46> standard.

i liked the white as a very different change of pace. For my palate, it's pretty one note, but it's a note that makes for a nice settling down before bed. As I said, it's rich and tastes like dessert.

I've never had the cask strength. When I was a young man Maker's was my go to.

At this juncture I've absolutely had better, but we all indulge in nostalgia, I think.
